RV travelers passing through west Texas find a practical overnight stop at Ole Town Cotton Gin RV Park in Quanah. The park accommodates rigs up to 85 feet with full hookups across level, pull-through sites. An operational historic cotton gin anchors the property, filled with period furnishings that visitors can explore during office hours.
The campground maintains grass areas and shade trees that provide relief from the intense Texas heat. A small swimming pool offers additional cooling options during summer months. Susan L. found it "an oasis in the west Texas desert" with "full hook-ups and a quiet night's sleep." The back section houses long-term residents, while transient campers typically use front and side areas.
Railroad tracks run close to the property, generating frequent horn blasts throughout the night. Kelly B. warns campers to "be prepared to hear trains blasting their horns all night long." The owners keep chickens on-site and sell fresh eggs for $3 per dozen. A small store operates near the office, and laundry facilities sit adjacent to the pool area.
Check-in packets are available outside the office for after-hours arrivals, allowing campers to select from available sites. The park offers military discounts and maintains clean restroom facilities. WiFi reaches throughout the campground with reliable signal strength. Cell service varies by carrier but generally works adequately for basic communication needs.
The location serves travelers heading to places to camp near Quanah or continuing along regional highways. Staff accommodates special requests when possible, and the straightforward layout makes navigation simple for large RVs.
