We are a new 240 acre RV site just having opened in January 2020. All concrete sites, full hookup, and free high speed fiber optic internet. Amenities include a large resort style pool, pickleball courts, shuffleboard courts, fitness center and more. We are only 20 minutes from South Padre Island.

All considering this park needs a lot and is neglected and over rated. Stayed her for a week based on reviews and is not what we expected. First the park is in the middle of no where and I mean no where. Nothing within biking distance or walking distance, the winds are non stop windy. The grass is still, well there isn’t any nor do they water to grow any, was all weeds which they don’t keep trimmed or cut. Dust and dirt in the trailer everyday. The water is incredibly hard and stains everything. The pool(only 1 pool for the size of this park) get full quick. If you don’t have your seat or chair by 9am bring your own. Oh yah, though they do offer good rates on gold carts, you will need it because it’s a long drive to the pool. There is also a daily resort fee per person for whatever reason they tack onto your bill. The park is way over rated and way over priced considering all the conditions I listed. And the funny part of this, if you go to there website they claim it’s a 9.5 star according to good sams reviews, yet when you go to good sams reviews to look up there park it isn’t listed. Definitely don’t recommend this park nor will we ever return.

This RV park/resort is abundant in beautiful plantings and trees! It feels like a true tropical resort. There are many amenities including a nice swimming pool. The sites are large with FHU and 50amp. They have lots of outdoor activities around the park and are next door to the Rio Grande State Park. Great place to stay!

GuidePros: Staff is friendly but, lots of cliquey campers. Spent 10 wks this winter, while the park had plenty of activities, the area doesn't. Hit the museums and lotsa flea mkts within the first month. Been there, done that, won't go back.

We enjoyed our stay as Isla Blanca. Some sites are spacious, some are a little cramped but I've seen worse for sure. 5 minute walk to the beach so thats pretty hard to beat. Lots of stickers around is about the only bad thing.
ScoutGreat location and great beach. Good for viewing spacex launches too. Roads, sites, and lawns are poorly maintained and quite varied in condition from site to site. Checkin procedures are odd, where you have to supply all the info they already have when you made the reservation. Then you have to read like 6 pages of rules and agree to them and don't get a copy (I asked). They don't enforce rules and there's noone to call anyhow (neighbor had 5 cars in his 2 car site and played loud music until midnight).

TravelerThe sites were fairly level, but with some broken concrete areas the need for levelers were necessary. Sticker burrs were legit and everywhere. I liked the fact that you could easily access the beach or the bay. The beach was not too busy during the week when I was there. Umbrellas and beach chairs were available for $30. I’m not sure there are any sites that can actually see the water, maybe a couple. The dunes and the other 599 campers block most all views. Close to neighboring campers, but to be expected I guess. My particular site did not have a picnic table.
ScoutCan't beat the price and the location! Nearby to South Padre Island Bay, amenities offered were very nice (pool, laundry room, game room, store). Would definitely stay here again, even with the tight spaces, since our RV neighbors are typically very friendly.

Camping fees are $30 per night with full hook ups and $15 per night with Passport America. Monthly and long term rates available.
LegendWe spent 8 days here for a vacation. The sites are small, but level and include FHU's and cable. It was very crowded, but still relatively quiet. A lot of winter Texans spend the season here, as the weather is really nice in winter. There are not many places to walk your dog, but they do provide waste pickup bags and there is a small dog park. The campground is right on the bay and there is a wonderful restaurant on a pier that is walking distance. You can also take tours of the bay via boat here. The county beach is pretty close, and you can walk or ride the free city bus to the end of the line (a few minutes ride) and get off and walk to the beach. Very nice beach with modern facilities. You can also take the free city bus (bus stop is at campground entrance) into S Padre island or over the bridge to the mainland.
GuideWe arrived at check-in time & was told to sign in on a waiting list. They called names by yelling out the door. Waited about an hour to finally check in & was told to fill out 3 pages of info (I could have been doing during the wait time). However staff was friendly & obviously overwhelmed.
Campground was okay.
We were in D26 which was alright. Slight leveling of the RV needed since no concrete pads on Dodson St. No trees or shade. Everything got pretty dirty. Windy & hazy in January.
We work remote & data service was tough to get.
Lots of people seemed to always be changing sites as they said they extended their trip longer.
Overall it was a decent campground but I’d prefer to head to Florida.

RangerOur specific site was probably what influenced my five star review. This is a huge rv park where they cram rigs very close together, which is not my usual idea of a good time. But we decided to try it out anyways, and we chose our own site off the map on their website. It’s off-season in January, and still it’s packed. site S24 offered much privacy. We could see the water and were surrounded by cactus and agave instead of other RVs. It’s clean and quiet. Really a nice place. Dog friendly. Right on the beach and board walk. It’s a couple miles away from most of the restaurants and shopping, yet still walkable.
GuideThis park has it all. Top notch fishing, easy access to beautiful beaches and surfing. The check it was easy, but be warned that the little white building is a 1/4 mile before the entrance on the right. There is a parking area at the office to park while you register. You need to sign in and they call your cell when its time to come in due to covid. The only single complaint is the tiny burrs that are all over the grass area and dunes. They get tracked in an hurt when finding them with bare feet. Our youngest screamed bloody murder the first time walking in flip flops over the grass. Shoes required for most of this park. Lots of winter texans and most were really friendly. You have an excellent view of Spacex' Boca Chica launch facility across the channel. We ended up staying a few extra weeks, and we plan to return as often as we can. The horseback riding on the beach by Island Adventures is expensive but well worth the money. This place is too beautiful to get crammed into the local KOA.

Check-in was a breeze. The lady in the front office was very nice, and told us everything we needed to know about the resort.
The one thing I absolutely love about Tropical Trails(if I had to pick one) is that the spaces between sites are some of the largest I've seen. It's so refreshing not to be right on top of your neighbor, even if they are super nice(which ours were).
Some of the other benefits that I thought were noteworthy:
High Speed Internet(ethernet from the pedestal) was very fast(over 100mbit). No issues with multiple 4k stream, and/or Zoom/Teams calls. It's been an absolute joy to carry out my daily work without any network disruption.
Cleanliness of the park is incredible, staff is more than welcoming and ready to address any needs.
Gated access with PIN code entry is a plus, even though the area seems very nice, and somewhat remote.
They provide you with a newer(and clean) picnic table and a nice covered fireplace(and wood!).
If I had to find something negative to say it'd be that I wish there was more grass and less dirt between the sites.
That said, it's a pretty new park, and I am sure they're working on that. Also, this is TX, not MN. I bet it's harder to get grass to grow due to lack of precip.
They have planted a lot of palm(and other) trees, but they're still growing so there isn't much shade at the moment.
There are train tracks on the north end of the resort, and we were very close(as close as you can be) to them. Train seems to roll through at about 1030pm every night, but you honestly don't even notice after the first night.
We kept extending our stay by a few days here, a few days there as we didn't want to leave, but alas, people are finding this place, and we weren't able to keep our spot any longer.
We're heading to FL very soon, but we'll definitely be back to Brownsville and we won't even consider another RV resort.

It's a short drive to the beach and SpaceX is close, we just watched the latest test flight.
A big plus is a space between lots here, your neighbors are not 5 ft away like the island parks, here it is more like 50 feet.
Our lot has room for our truck and a picnic table.
We learned how to play Pickle Ball- what a hoot and good cardio also.
Plenty going on to stay busy-we took a dolphin watching trip and saw plenty of them.
