Easy camp spot!

Picnic area not far off main highway. Easy pull in/out, although not separated in to camp lots. Lots of picnic tables. Some people opted to set up tents in grassy area. Saw one pull behind RV. Bathrooms were clean.

Perfect one nighter or weekend

This place is SUPER easy to access, and is very well kept. The scenery around this place is so beautiful! Make sure you grab all your ice, and necessities before making your way here. The nearest amenities are 12-20 miles away. If you come through Amarillo the Burger Barn is a must!

Good overnight campground

Level lots, easy to find and plenty of space. Staff was very friendly and accommodating when we arrived.

Facilities are out dates. Playground leaves much to be desired. Dog walk is literally a strip of grass in the back by the road where a dog can walk I guess, honestly not really sure. WiFi…

Dinosaur Tracks

We stayed here when state of New Mexico scheduled my vaccination nearby here rather than nearby my home. Otherwise, who knows when we would have discovered this place.

The sites are easily accessible, and probably best before it gets too hot.

The amazing part is the hike to the dinosaur tracks.…

Oasis in the Plains

Depressed coming down from the majestic mountains, this is a wonderful oasis gem of a campground to ease the step off into the sea of grasslands and farms that are the plains. Invisible from the surface, you drop down from the plain into a little oasis of a lake, surrounded by pocketed bushy shrubs…

Beautiful view, helpful staff!

Wow! What a beautiful campsite! Wish we could have stayed for more than one night. Perfect for star gazing because you’re out in the middle of nowhere, and the dinosaur tracks were too cool for words! Above all, I can’t say enough great things about the staff. They spent a good 1 1/2 hours to get…

Great amenities for the price

Last minute booking on a Saturday. Grabbed 1 or 2 open spots. Had electricity, water, toilets, shower and laundry ($1 wash/$1 dry). Shaded picnic tables. Self check-in. $25/night, $150/week, $450 monthly

Easy Resting Place

I normally like to camp at Palo Duro Canyon on my way west to CO or Utah. The camping spots were all reserved on this trip though. I found Thompson Grove picnic area through this site, and didn't know what to expect. It ended up being an easy place to eat and car camp for the night. I wouldn't…

This'll work for a night

This is a surprising campground. The roads in were pretty rough, marginally maintained. The campground is a real place with picnic tables, grills and a vault toilet. It's kinda cute.

We rock a 32' 5er. I could not turnaround in the parking lot. I backed out to the "main" road, then back into the…

Always love camping near water

Only stayed one night, passing through. A lot of spots for day use, with great views of lake. Dinosaur tracks a total bonus. Worth the stop. Fun finding this marker. (photo)

Flat, clean, quiet,

Pit toilets, flat section to set up tents. Not much privacy as there is only 1 area to set up in but there are several picnic tables and fire pits spaced out throughout. There are garbage and recycling cans.

Middle of nowhere

Great, quiet little place. Clean bathrooms. In a grove of trees in the middle of open fields. Places for tents. We're able to camp with our 30' TT. Lot was big enough to turn it around. Had to use our generator all night due to battery issues. Sorry to the tent campers at the other end of the park…

Good stay for 1 night

Only stayed for a night but it was a good stay. Super clean vault toilets and trash bins. There’s about 6-7 tent spots with picnic tables and fire rings. I have a camper van and stayed in the parking lot. No pull in spots for RVs or trailers but the lot can accommodate them. Pretty remote so very…

Decent Overnight Stay

If you like being shoved into a campsite like a bunch of sardines, this is the park for you. There was little room between RVs, which is something our family just doesn't like. If you don't mind the closeness, this is a decent place. I will, however, say that the park for the kids was phenomenal.…
