Hapgood RV Park

Twenty-one miles west of Wichita Falls, Hapgood RV Park occupies a county-managed site in Henrietta with hookups for recreational vehicles only. The gravel sites sit close together but provide access to surrounding open land for exploration. Train sounds carry across the area, though road noise remains minimal despite the park's proximity to main routes.

The facility operates on a self-service basis, with campers placing $15-20 in an envelope and completing registration forms independently. Sites include electric and water hookups, with some offering full connections. Crystal C. noted that "the bathrooms there were closed and only open during the warm weather," indicating seasonal restroom availability affects planning.

Long-term occupancy by oil service workers occurs despite posted 72-hour limits, creating a mixed atmosphere of overnight travelers and extended-stay residents. The flat, level sites accommodate pull-through access, making late arrivals manageable. Several reviewers mention the park's cleanliness and quiet conditions during overnight stays.

Campers seeking additional options can explore camping near Wichita Falls, while Lake Arrowhead State Park provides a different camping experience to the west. This bare-bones facility works best for RV travelers needing basic hookups and highway access rather than full amenities or recreational features.

A budget-friendly municipal RV park with clean, level sites and simple check-in at $15-20/night. Visitors often highlighted the quiet atmosphere, though limited amenities and seasonal restroom closures were noted concerns.

Very nice no frills

We pulled in at 10:30 pm but very easy to park in pull through spot. Clean, flat, gravel spots with electric and water. Put $15 in an envelope as required. Will definitely stay here again when we head this way.

Great price for the beauty and space

The RV spaces were close together but there was so much land around the sites to explore. It was safe, not far off the main road but no road noise. You could hear the trains but that in the plus category for me.

Cheap and quiet

At the time I stayed full hook ups where $15. Easy check in, just write your info down and out 15 dollars in an envelope. Very quiet and clean park. Great stop for a overnight stay.

Good overnight stop

A city park provided by the town of Henrietta. We had a good level campsite with a choice of every campsite in the campground. We were the only ones there for the night. We were undisturbed and spent a peaceful night. We had good access to the highway we were traveling on the way to Colorado. Would probably stay here again for an overnight.

Very Disappointing, NO TENTS

This is an RV only site!! As a tent camper this was more than a little upsetting to discover. However I went ahead and checked out the location to help friends who travel have a little insight.

I was not impressed by the amenities or location at all, it seemed a bit to open for comfort. There are no concessions for those looking to have a real RV park feel, in fact it is more like off grid stay. The original listing I found mentioned bathrooms, however the bathrooms there were closed and only open during the warm weather, so that was a bit deceiving. There was electricity hook up for RVs however so that seemed to at least offset the lacking other amenities.

The location is very close to area businesses but was overrun with long term oil service workers despite the 72 hour limit. Some of these guys had clearly been here much longer so the rules themselves were a bit confusing and seemed a bit disorganized.

I was told it is $15 -$20 per night and can be paid at city hall and advanced reservations can be made but are not necessary.

I personally wouldn't elect to stay at this facility without a lot of changes. It felt to open to the elements and without a functioning restroom it didn't seem to be all it was advertised.
