Wichita Bend RV Park

Mountain bike and running trails connect directly from Wichita Bend RV Park, giving cyclists and runners immediate access to riverside paths without needing to drive elsewhere. The municipal campground sits adjacent to the Wichita River with a walking bridge linking campers to a park area that features a waterfall.

Sites include water and electric hookups, with both 30-amp and 50-amp options available across the property. The campground operates on an honor system for the $17 nightly fee and enforces a 72-hour maximum stay policy. "Sites are level water pressure is good and electric is pretty stable," reports ron R.. A dump station handles waste disposal, though the facility provides no restrooms or shower buildings.

Highway noise from nearby I-44 reaches most sites throughout the day and night. The campground offers little natural shade, leaving RVs exposed to direct sun during warmer months. Verizon cell coverage works adequately for basic communication needs. Some sites include picnic tables and grills, while others lack these amenities.

The location works well as an overnight stop for travelers moving between major cities, with Wichita Falls providing restaurants and services within easy driving distance. Many visitors appreciated the clean sites, reliable utilities, and excellent $17 nightly rate. Road noise from the adjacent interstate was commonly noted as the main drawback, though most found good value overall.

Great little place right off the highway

There is water and 30a electric at every site I believe some sites have 50 amps as well. There is a 72-hour limit. It's right next to the highway so there is road noise. Sites are level water pressure is good and electric is pretty stable. The park is very clean.

Great place to stop when traveling

this is a great place to stop if you aren't able to drive straight through to Dallas or OKC. There is a max stay of 72 hours @ $17 a night. Sites have water and electricity. There is also a dump station. There are NO bathrooms or showers. The Wichita Falls area does have enough sights to fill 3 days if you wanted to stay that long. Some spots have picnic tables and grills. There is little if any shade. Due to it being right off I44, there is road noise.

Unexpected oasis

We happened upon this lovely, and convenient park during an emergency situation with our vehicle. This park is so nice, yes, it is near a freeway but step out your door and over to the park - WOW, who knew Wichita Falls was so pretty? We didn’t. We were stranded for two days (weekend) but this park made the delay completely enjoyable.

Good for the price

Only $17 a night for water and 30 amp hookups. No internet, and close to the highway so expect traffic noise. Verizon has decent coverage. There are some hiking trails and a bridge that would have been neat to explore, unfortunately we were rained out and didn't get the chance.
