Hiking, biking, and equestrian trails give Bald Eagle Creek campground its primary draw, accessed by crossing the dry creek bed into the adjacent horse camp area of San Angelo State Park. Sites in the loop are spacious, many shaded by large trees, and include covered concrete picnic tables. Full hookups with electric, water, and sewer are available, though at least one reviewer noted initial rust and odor from the water hookup after a period of disuse. Bathrooms are older but have been reported as reasonably clean. One access quirk: entering requires stopping to remove a padlock and open the gate manually. Bald Eagle — San Angelo State Park sits about two miles north for campers who want a different configuration within the same area.
