Just okay

We were passing through Amarillo and decided to stop. Most of the sites were not very level and it was mostly full of full timers. It was just okay. I wouldn’t want to stay here if I was vacationing for a period of time. But for just passing through it did the job and it was cheap. The front desk was nice. Laundry was only open 8:30-5:30 so I didn’t get a chance to clean our clothes.

Urban Environment

We stayed for one night so we could visit Palo Duro State Park. If you don’t mind street noise and a hard scrabble environment, this is an OK one night stop. The staff is helpful, the access is easy, full hook ups at a good price, and there is a nice park across the street when you need to see something green. The Wonderland amusement park is next to the park and open on weekends. I am assuming that some of the amusement park workers live in the trailer park. There are quite a few “permanent” residents who were friendly enough but it felt like camping in an inner city neighborhood. The actual park itself was quiet, but the street noise was constant. If you are used to that you can sleep.
