Arrowhead Resort

With 40 sites accessible by both car and boat, Arrowhead Resort sits on Watts Bar Lake near Spring City, Tennessee. The privately managed campground operates seasonally from April through October, closing during winter months. Most sites include water and electric hookups, though tent camping options remain limited according to recent visitors.

The open terrain layout places sites close together with minimal privacy between spots. Campers report that designated tent areas can be hard to identify, with some groups setting up behind RV sites in available flat spaces. The campground maintains clean bathhouses with hot water and provides standard amenities including picnic tables and trash service. A camp store stocks basics and firewood for evening campfires.

Lake access drives much of the activity here. "Lots of people were out on their fishing boats," notes Angela C., and the facility caters to anglers with boat rentals and bait sales. The swimming area includes a dive platform, though the beach access ramp can become slippery. Evening entertainment occasionally includes outdoor movies with complimentary popcorn.

Road conditions to the resort can be rough, particularly after weather events. For campers wanting different terrain or more secluded sites, Stump Hollow Farm & RV offers an alternative just over a mile away.

Lots of kid friendly activities - sites are MEH

We reserved a site with full- hookups and our friends reserved a tent site. Our site was fine, but there wasn’t what I would describe as a tent site. Our friends ended up just camping behind our camper in the flattest area they could find. All of the sites are pretty close and out in the open.

When we stayed some of the activities/amenities weren’t available (there had been a fire or something at the kitchen). We had a pretty decent time, though. We rented kayaks and paddle boards and explored the lake and they had a huge inflatable slide that our kids spent hours on. The ramp to the swim beach was ridiculously slimy but kids all enjoyed swimming in the lake and jumping off the dive platform. The camp had a movie in the evening (Jaws) and gave out popcorn. There were basketball courts and beanbag toss. Lots of people were out on their fishing boats.

So potentially plenty of activities for the kids, but the campground sites could be a bit nicer for the price. Any staff we interacted with were super pleasant.

Wonderful Family Run Campground

You do not have to feel crowded here! Easy access to fishing, small town feel, boat rental, bait and restaurant all on site. 40 min from Chattanooga for day trips. Bathhouse has HOT water and is clean. Love waking up and strolling along Watts Bar - fish are always jumping in the morning! Water and Electric at most sites. Note they are closed for the off season Nov through March! Book early for spring - as there are many fish tournaments held in the area with fisherman that know about this wonderful spot!
