Hornsby Hollow Campground

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Tennessee Valley Authority manages Hornsby Hollow Campground on the shores of Watts Bar Lake in Ten Mile, Tennessee, where a number of sites sit directly on the water and accommodate RVs up to 70 feet with full hookups including electric, water, and sewer. The campground operates year-round and accepts reservations, making it a workable destination across seasons. Anglers and paddlers tend to get the most out of it. Kayak rentals are available on-site, and several sites have direct lake access.

Site spacing is a recurring topic in reviews. Many sites are shaded and gravel-surfaced, with concrete picnic tables and fire rings. Reviewers consistently note that sites are not crowded together, though some spots along the water draw foot traffic from other visitors who fish from the shoreline. Long-term seasonal renters occupy a portion of the sites, which tends to keep activity levels low even when the campground is at capacity. Cell service is limited, and the campground's Wi-Fi signal does not reliably reach individual sites.

Jerry B. sums up the facilities well: "Park is close to spotless, most sites are large." The bathrooms are described as clean but dated. The on-site store is well-stocked, and a two-sided dump station sits near the front entrance. There is a small playground and two swimming areas, plus a boat ramp. Other campgrounds in the Watts Bar Lake corridor include Euchee Marina Resort and Campground and Shelter Cove Marina & Campground, giving those exploring campgrounds near Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) several options to compare. Hornsby Hollow is worth a return visit if lakefront access and site size are priorities.

Campers regularly cited the spacious lakefront sites, quiet atmosphere, and friendly owners as key strengths. Some noted dated facilities and WiFi limitations, but most found it a scenic local getaway spot.

Beautiful Sites!

The campground was one of the most scenic I've been to. Some of the lakefront spots had their own access to the lake and plenty of trees. The camp host was amazing!

Nice spot, inconsiderate campers

We picked an end spot that would have a nice grassy area for our elderly dog. It would have been nice but there were several children and adults in swimsuits fishing from our site just a few feet from our RV. They stayed there for hours and I didn’t feel comfortable telling them to leave since I don’t “own” the lake. The people next to our RV were smoking meats for a long time and our RV stunk like smoke for days. Neither of these were the campground’s fault but it made me wish there was more room between sites. There was no one in the office when we tried to check in despite being their open hours. Dump spot was near the front entrance, no site sewer. No Wifi at sites either.

Great Campground

I'll start with my "not so happy with" list. Bathrooms are pretty clean but dated. We saw where the campground had WIFI. We work from the road so this is important. We found that the WIFI does not reach the actual campground. If you sit at the picnic table at the office, it works!! We have a work around but WIFI at the camper would be best. It did not appear that our site had been cleaned prior to our arrival. Firepit full of ash, some small paper debris around lots if cheese "goldfish" scattered about the site.

The "We love it" list. Camp staff has been very pleasant. Park is close to spotless, most sites are large, water fronts are beautiful. Numerous long term rentals here but appeared unoccupied, good for us. Well stocked store. 2 sided dump station. We will be back!

Lovely camping!

This is a great rv park. Many of the sites are on the water, and some are decently spaced out. The hosts are so kind! We rented a kayak for the day and had a great time on the water. It was super noticeable to us that the campsite was very quiet at almost any hour. Many of the spots are filled by people renting for the whole season, which means that even at full capacity, there weren’t many people around it the quiet was lovely. Our site wasn’t on the water, but we still had amazing views of the sun coming up on the water. Will definitely be coming back.

Great Lakeside Campground

Great Lakeside campground. I grew up camping here. It’s close to home and our favorite place to go locally. A lot of the sites are shaded. Sites are spaced out nicely and not on top of each other. No sewer but do have dump station. Owners are friendly and helpful. They have a small playground, two swimming areas and a boat ramp. Sites are gravel and have a fire ring and concrete picnic tables.

Peace on earth

Our favorite place to go that's close to home when we want to get away. Good sized spot's, you're not on top of each other. Plenty of shade. The owners are real nice.
