River Plantation RV Resort

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Sitting in the foothills outside Sevierville, River Plantation RV Resort runs along a .7-mile loop road with gravel, level sites and full hookups accommodating rigs up to 75 feet. The campground sits near the river, and the creek-front sites draw repeat visitors who specifically request them. Sites are packed in close together, which is worth knowing before booking, though the 7 mph speed limit and loop layout make the interior roads manageable for families with kids on bikes.

The on-site amenities lean heavily toward families. There's a pool, a bounce pillow, a lazy river, basketball and tennis courts, a GaGa ball pit, an arcade room, and a playground. Ericka T. notes the creek-front sites were "the bread and butter of this campground." An on-site RV wash station is also available, a practical touch for longer stays. Bathrooms are functional and consistently described as clean, though sized to match the campground's volume.

River Plantation works well as a base for the broader Smokies corridor. Quinton H. describes the location as being near "Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, The Great Smoky Mountains, Knoxville," with day trips covering zip lines, Dollywood, kayaking, and hiking. Campers planning a similar itinerary can also explore campgrounds near Pigeon Forge to compare options across the region. The campground is open year-round, and fall visits have drawn positive reviews, suggesting the shoulder season holds up well.

One fee worth noting: the resort charges an additional "lock fee" to guarantee a specific site after selecting it during booking, which at least one reviewer flagged as unexpected. Reservations are available and pets are allowed. Rates run $30 to $71 per night depending on site type and season. Nearby alternatives include Sun Outdoors Sevierville Pigeon Forge just to the east, and Yogi Bear RV Resort Pigeon Forge a short distance southeast for campers wanting a different setup.

Great Stay, Over Priced

First time staying. We loved the campground. All the amenities (hookups, pool, playground) were great. Campground was quiet even though there are lots of sites and it's located close to a main road. Bathrooms were about what you would expect from a campground this size. Not sure I understand the additional "lock fee" to make sure you get the site you select. What's the purpose of even selecting a site to begin with? Seems like just a money grab.

This RV Resort is near more activities that you could possibly get around t

We spent 4 nights there recently.  So much to do yet so little time to get it done.  Being near Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, The Great Smoky Mountains, Knoxville etc. , it makes for a wonderful centralized place to stay so that you can do activities to your hearts contents.  Zip Lines, Shopping, Hiking, Dollywood, Kayaking.  One day while there we took a 1 1/2 hour drive to Ashville NC to tour the Biltmore estate.  We planned on posting some photos but quite honestly we didn't have time because of all of the other activities we had going on.

Great place to stay!

This is our first RV trip and we couldn’t have picked a better place to stay! The RV Resort is very clean and very well kept. Everyone was nice and friendly.

Perfect For Families

This place has large campsites and is easy to park bigger rigs! The amenities here were amazing- our kids LOVED the bounce pillow and pool. We stayed in 3 different campsites within this resort- the creek front sites were the bread & butter of this campground. The main road is a .7 mile loop, which was super safe for my morning runs. The speed limit in the campground is 7mph which eases my mind as a mama allowing my kiddos to ride their bikes. I felt very safe during our 12-night stay!

Very Nice

This resort had a lot of great activities from a lazy river to GaGa ball. Most sites are back-ins and the roads are gravel. But everything is well maintained.

Convenient to the Sevierville area

Centrally located near Dollywood about half way between Knoxville and Gatlinburg.  Close to many restaurants and activities for all ages.  The lots are gravel and level with full hookups.  A few premium lots available along the river.  We were here for a large RV rally and definitely enjoyed the campgrounds and the rally facilities.  The onsite RV wash does a great job.  Will definitely stay there again when in the area.
