Clean Shower House and Personable Hosts

This campground has become our favorite. The campground is amazing, the bathrooms are cleaned everyday on weekends and every other day during the week. Completely cleaned!

The site has 77 sites full hook-up with sewage. Every site has grill, fire pit, table and lantern hook. We were #38 it was easy to back into and pretty level. The campground also have small cabins with bunk beds to rent. There is no indoor water just beds, electric and air for a great price. There is a small swimming area too at Pin Oak.

There are a few lakes in the area. Pin Oak is the only motor lake. Cub lake has a larger swim area with paddle boat, Jon boat and kayak rentals. The rentals are only weekends. Browns Creek Lake also has honest system rentals of Jon boat but for fishing purposes only and you have to pay for a lake permit.

The park is great! Lexington is close for quick runs for anything you need. We loved this park so much we may be changing our family BBQ to this park next year.

Overnight at Oak Campground

We stayed one night at the Oak Campground. We drove straight to our site (per the Visitor Center’s instruction) - it’s about 15 minutes off I-40. The site was in great shape, there was wood left for us, and the bathhouses were super clean. The campground landscape is rolling hills so everyone has a different view of the lake. Our kids enjoyed riding their bikes and playing on the small beach. There was a playground for smaller kids and several people were fishing and boating. The campsites are not super private, but they are nicely spaced, everyone was pleasant and it was quiet in the evening. Lots of folks w pups, but they were all leashed or fenced. The lodge was over a mile away so we didn’t make it over there and if you are looking for amenities, there really aren’t any. There are other campgrounds in the Park, as well as a Visitor Center. For a nice and reasonably priced overnight, I would strongly recommend.

Huge park

This is a very big park with multiple types of camping options and also a lodge with a restaurant. Lots of great fishing and boating spots. There’s a few beaches for swimming and multiple playgrounds for the little ones. Check it is super easy, you just drive up to your site. The RV sites had plenty of room and were very well maintained. We met the camp host to buy firewood and he was really nice and accommodating.

Nice Place

We usually use Pin Oak CG at Natchez Trace State Park when we are traveling through Tennessee.  Many nice sites, and a few that aren't as nice.  But well worth stopping and enjoying the lake and peacefulness.  Our first time there was in 2014 and that is when I took the photos.

It was ok

It was ok. We chose a group site. It was difficult to stake our tent due to the massive root systems. Bathhouse was unclean and outdated. There was swimming, but beware of the snakes lurking in the wall you have to step down into the water from. The beach area is also a drive from the camp. Small fishing and peddle boats are offered for a rental fee.

Very Handicap Accessible

We stayed here with our son who is in a wheelchair. Pin Oak had 2 sites that were very accommodating and close to the bath house with a Great Lake view. Everything was clean and an awesome little weekend. Only complaint would be with their phone system. Tried to call several times about reserving an extra site with no luck. Eventually got through but it took 2 days.

Great stay!

I loved the pull through sites, widely spaced apart, and while we didn’t do any fishing it looks like a fantastic place. The lake was pretty muddy and warm, so not great for swimming, but the people were very friendly and the bathrooms were clean and large. The site is actually really far back into the park, and there is no cel service. We would absolutely stay here again.

Great Campground with full hookups

Pin Oak Lake Campground is very nice. Well maintained with full hookups and plenty of space separating the sites. The lake itself is very clear water. Easy to access the park from I-40 but it is a bit of a drive from the exit. All good roads and location makes the campground quiet. Plenty of activities in the park and close to some Civil war battlefields. Our 38’ RV was easy to park on the generous pad. Take plenty of food as a trip to the store is a bit of a drive.

Pin Oak RV Campground

the campground has full hookups which is great for those that are in campers and RVs. there are some small shade trees in the area but not enough to use to get out of the heat of the day. there is a large lake on the campground that has a beach and swimming area. with your stay at the campground you do not have to pay for a permit to go fishing or kayaking on the lake or put in a boat. the staff is amazing and can help with almost any problem and continue to patrol later into the day to keep an eye on the kids running around. top notch, would recommend.

Big RV campground

We had a peaceful weekend in our little pop-up amongst all the big 5th wheels and buses. Great full service water, electric & sewer service (loved not having to dump the gray water tank!) could have been a little more shade and there is virtually no Verizon service except close the water front.

Spacious, but unkept

We truly enjoyed our surroundings, but our primitive loop bathrooms were filled with caterpillars. I bet the RV sites have better kept bathrooms! We loved swimming and kayaking at Cub Creek Lake.
