Puskus Lake Recreation Area is a fairly remote area for those who do not like the big crowds and do not need modern conveniences. The visitor will discover a pleasant and quiet environment. This recreation area surrounds a 96 acre lake stocked with largemouth bass and bluegill with occasional crappie or catfish. Facilities include 19 campsites, 13 picnic sites, boat ramp, fishing piers, and a 1-mile hiking trail. Puskus Lake Recreation Area is open year-round unless weather conditions require the area to be closed. Puskus is a fee area and the fee station is located just beyond the entrance gate. No attendant will be on duty. Therefore, users should make sure that they have correct currency before arriving at the recreation area.

Arrived at the park a little after 11pm and the gate was locked with a sign saying “Closed 10pm-6am.” On the website it said “first come first serve.” Very disappointing, ended up driving another 30 min and booking a hotel.
Such a gem of a campground - 15 minutes off I-40 East but felt like a safe option a little ways out of the busy downtown Memphis area. From the moment I pulled in I could tell I had made a great choice - super clean showers, bathroom and laundry. The grounds are impeccable and sites and roads are all paved. Site 21 is nice and private at end of a row and is pull thru
This is a huge campground and the price for a spot was at least double what we would pay elsewhere (nearly $100). We weren’t able to get a campground at Tom Sawyer and the reviews were all over the place for the rest of the Memphis campgrounds that we decided to go ahead and splurge on this one.
This was our first Jellystone and I was shocked at how many campers the campground accommodated - there are RVs everywhere. Most of the amenities and services are located at the front of the campground and includes a store and propane, playground, dog run, pool, showers and laundry, gold mining station, and sports courts (basketball, Gaga ball, and basketball). Further back in the campground, was another playground and dog run and a really cute little lake.
We were staying off-season so there was no activities and they actually deflated the jumping pad, but my kids still had fun and I could see this campground either being a blast in the summer or being a nightmare because of too many people. While we were there, I saw almost no children and several of the camper sites looked like the guests were staying long-term. For a campground that is marketed towards families, the demographics were a bit strange.
That said, it was super clean, well-organized, the landscaping and sites were maintained, everyone was friendly. We got two loads of wash done and my husband said the showers looked good. There were some restaurants and a Walgreen that looked like they delivered to the campground. WiFi worked and they had cable tv.
We reserved a basic site, but for more money you could get a site with Adirondack patio furniture and there were plenty of cabins as well. We reserved same day online and they have a system for late check-ins.
I’m definitely giving Jellystone another go - but next time during the summer. I’m not sure whether this campground is a good base for exploring Memphis - I think if you had a car it would probably be fine as it’s only 20 minutes or so.
They knew they had no power and didn’t give us a heads up before showing up. We paid for FHU which means full hook up. No refund and no options to help us. They just told us to deal with it.
This seems a very typical NFS campground. Lots of spots some with electric and water and a number which are primitive. It is rustic. The electric service has an open ground situation so my camper wouldn't take it which was fine but a lot of the year could be an issue. There are bathrooms and private showers. I did not need or use the facilities but they were clean and seemed functional. I am literally the only camper here which frankly I think is wonderful. Tons of places to walk and a lot of nice views of the lake. I will definitely be back and use it for an overnight on my way out or back to my winter location.
They don’t tell you this is predominantly a work camp. The website shows a nice pool, only reason we went there. It does not have a pool.
Campsite was great. Beautiful lake and not crowded. Night time was quiet. Really enjoyed the views and relaxing environment. This is a great location to disconnect, but do not expect the amenities other sites offer (bathrooms, electricity, water, etc.).
First time at a KOA, and it was a good experience. Our stay was for 3 nights. Easy check-in and staff were very helpful. They also have a cafe that serves breakfast from Thursday - to Sunday ( due to staffing shortage). Enjoyed Beale Street and of course, toured Elvis's house and complex.
Sites were close together, our pad was part concrete and part gravel, but we were able to level our 5th wheel just fine.
Quiet, peaceful and cheap. No shower or bathroom facilities. Water has plenty of pressure, and runs clear after a few seconds. Surprisingly nice weather and no mosquitoes or gnats. Free firewood, and portajons on-site
The owner is unstable, beware. Multiple reviews can corroborate. I drove an hour and a half with a one-year-old to a birthday party without intending to use the water park. I asked simply if we all needed to pay for water park passes.$20 per person, and when I said it was ridiculous, the owner lost her mind on me. Told me, then don't go then! And I called her business ridiculous. I told our friends I cussed her out. All lies there were children in the office. I never raised my voice, let alone cussed. I told her she needed to learn to talk to people and be respectful, and she told me to get off her property. I seriously hope she gets her help because something isn't right.
From the moment we arrived, we had an amazing experience. The staff greeted us and our pups with smiles, cozies, and treats for the dogs. The site is well taken care of. The laundry and camper kitchen were great amenities. The pool was clean and a great way to cool off. They have a Cafe that serves breakfast and dinner. Dinner is delivered to your site. We will definitely be staying here again.
The park is very clean and exceptionally well maintained. Perfect overnight. One exit north has everything you need; food, Aldi's, Walmart.
The Dog Run is a huge area. We experienced a problem with our Powerdog 50 EPO Surge protector getting an E1 and E2 code error from the pedastals. The errors state that if the power is above 132 or below 104 on line 1 (E1) or line 2 (E2) it will shut off park power. We spoke to the office and moved spots, but received and E1 code error again. I took a chance and ran my unit without the protector. I tried it on another pedestal in the morning and received an E2 error code. I checked my Powerdog app and it showed 142.5 volts on line 2. Soooo....I'm not sure but will contact Hughes Autotransformers. Maybe it will be fine at the next stop?
Close to interstate, however last signage is a bit difficult to see. Clean, well maintained park with cement pads and nice grass in between.
Hardly any other people around. Very run down and lots of bugs. Stopped over here for a quick camp spot on a road trip, and it was fine for this. Wouldn’t go out of the way to come back
This was a last minute stop but something told me to stop here and check it out. The customer service was awesome and pricing was great. There is loads of things to do kinda wish I had more time to explore. When I head back East I plan on stopping again. Next vist the kids will have to come for sure. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING IT MIGHT HELP YOU IN THE FUTURE. While I was staying at this park and working there, I requested that the trees around my RV and the surrounding areas be cut down. This refers to the week of June 6, 2022. During that time, my manager informed the maintenance personnel that my limbs needed to be trimmed. Seeing the maintenance technician cut the limbs off the lady's tree in lot 31, I asked him to cut my limbs when he finished. He told me he would handle it since this was part of his duties. He was responsible for this task, so I trusted him! Despite my return from vacation the week of June 27, 2022, the limbs in my yard were still uncut. Therefore, another Maintenance technician informed me that a park customer had their limbs trimmed despite what he had promised. Although many requests have been made to remove my limbs, no action has been taken. Consequently, branches and limbs touching the camper's sides have scratched, rubbed, and dissolved the paint. My stay here, working for the park, provided me with an insight into how incompetent the management is. One of the biggest problems seems to be the parks employees' history of negligence and nepotism. An early morning tree limb struck my camper on July 9, 2022, causing permanent damage. I contacted the maintenance personnel and front desk clerk. In spite of my message being received and viewed at 5:55 a.m., no one responded until 8:20 a.m. The front desk clerk responded with this message; I let the maintenance manager know, and my brother know. Sorry about that. That's a slap in the face, especially considering he saw my text at 5:55am when we were barricaded in the camper. Although it was early, nobody seemed to be concerned about the tree and the damages. It seems unreasonable that no one would answer the emergency number, when half of the employees live in the park. I'd like to know why no one helped us cut and remove the tree. This is what you pay your employees for, right? Maintenance manager eventually appeared and told us that these types of trees fall continuously and that there have been a few that have fallen in the past year. At 6:20pm, the maintenance technician and new manager arrived to pick up the limbs that my husband and I had cut and stacked for them earlier. I feel as if my family's life was endangered because of the negligence of the park employees. By God's grace, we were not injured. I hope future customers will be taken more seriously by this company. I have incurred over $2000 in damages to my camper and have been told I would be reimbursed. The reimbursement has not been made, and nobody has bothered to contact me. I have sent them emails, but they have ignored them. You only had to make it right for me. You can expect the same treatment from Northgate as well. In the picture, you will see my damaged RV as well as the email asking for receipts for reimbursement. If you look closely, you can see limbs all over lot 31 RV. Avoid making the same mistake I did and ruining your property.
Ez Daze RV Park, Southaven, MS - We stayed one night in November. Easy pull through, level concrete site so we didn’t have to unhitch, very clean bathrooms and showers. They have two regular shower stalls which are extremely shallow and one ADA stall with pull down bench. We didn’t have much interaction with the staff because as soon as I walked in, about 4p, I was directed to find my site information outside in the after hours arrival box. Great if you’re looking for contactless registration or do in fact arrive after hours. There was debris in our space that must have been left by the previous camper and we had to get out and clear it before we could pull into the site. Appeared to be large broken pieces of a heavy plastic bumper. (Reason for 4 stars instead of 5) Strong wifi, cable reception wasn’t great. Code to the bathrooms, which is appreciated especially as the park is located in a business area and backs up to a residential neighborhood. Asphalt in front of office in extremely bad condition so be careful as you drive through. Nice office. They have plenty of long termers and there are two large receptacles outside the front office for package delivery. The park is easy access from I-55 and sits next to several RV dealers. Great place to stay if you want to have a look at some new trailers or motor homes. Also, a Tanger Outlet is just down the road. Full hook up, 50 amp site was $70, 63.00 with our Good Sam card which we think was a bit pricey. Oddly, there was only one trash receptacle in the entire park.
We really enjoyed our stay here. We had a great view of the lake from our site. Bathroom and Shower house felt clean. There were a lot of gnats on the sink counter but something I would expect from outdoor bathrooms so not a big deal. We did not see any type of park rangers or attendants on our stay. The only problem that may have solved was when we arrived at 5:00pm, our spot was reserved starting at 4:00pm, there was still someone parked in our spot. I kindly let them know we had the space reserved and they said ok and left within 20 min. Not a big deal just inconvenient. If they wouldn’t have left I’m not sure how the situation would have been resolved with no attendants. We drove around the rest of the campground and there were a lot of great spots with views. I did see a small swing set and basketball goal in a field but no real playground for kids. I did not see any walking trails or any activities but you can walk around at the lake. So if you have kids you may want to bring bikes, games, and other things to do. The campground stayed pretty quiet the whole time. At the front of the campground you do get slightly more traffic and noise of other campers coming in and out so if you want more privacy and quietness the back of the campground would be a little better I’m sure. Everyone we encountered waved, drove slow, and seemed friendly tho so we didn’t mind.
We will definitely be back to stay here again and look forward to it!
It’s incredibly easy to find right off 55. Easy exit I called reservations were easy to make and when I got there everything was set. I extended my stay and that was incredibly smooth. Very impressed they have breakfast and dinner + they deliver right to ur site! My dog LOVES the dog park ~ the swimming pool looks nice and showers bathrooms are some of the best I’ve seen since Michigan Highly recommend!
We drove through and did not stay here. Lots of long term renters. Not in a good area of town. Close to Graceland, but there are better places to stay within a 30 minutes drive. No thank you!
Really like the area. It’s got campsites right on the lake, a day area, boat ramp. It is falling into disuse and disrepair. The Forrest service has signs that it is going to be decommissioned. It is a Fee area. It’s 1$ for day use and 7$ for camp use. Bring cash.
We are somewhat local to this campground. We heard about it from a friend. We decided to give it a try.
Campground is clean and organized. The pads are made up of ground pavement. They are quite close together. Each site has its own 50/30/110 electric, water and sewer connections. This was a great surprise.
The bathrooms are a bit of a walk from the sites. They have a shower house by the water park area. The stalls are toilet/shower combo. Only problem is the only handicapped accessible shower is in this shower house and they don’t allow you to drive there unless you have a golf cart. And they do rent golf carts for $50 a day.
There is 2 more 24hr toilet/shower stalls in the lower half of the camp store. The camp store is open 8-8. The camp store has most of your daily needs such as ice and toiletries and firewood.
We were there for 3 days and my kids used the water park. They had a blast on the jumpers and got very wore out. The water park is a $20 charge a piece on the first day and goes down to $10 a day for the rest of your stay. Be advised you will be charged whether you are going in the water or not. If you are going down there you are being charged.
There is paddle boarding,kayaking, and a small John boat included with the park. There is also a very nice spacious pool that is included as well. The pool is 11ft deep so there’s no issues with using the diving board. Unfortunately we did not get to try the restaurant while we were there and will try on our next visit. There’s plenty of room to walk around and a fire tower to climb. You can see some great views up there. There’s also Yurts for rent and cabins. They all look well kept and up to date. The roads do narrow down a bit when first coming in so be prepared to watch your corners. All in all we will be back and recommend trying this new campground. Only reason for 4 stars is the bathrooms being so far and the sites being quite close together.
This is a great extended stay campground. Lots of amenities, including a swimming pool. Very close to shops and restaurants. The property is well maintained. However, I would not consider this as a campground, but more of a place to park.

We live nearby, so we drove over to see if this is someplace we would like to camp. We went into the office, and asked if we could look around. They said sure, just walk. We found a few sires we liked, so we went back to book for the following week. We were told that we would have to do that online, and that they couldn't guarantee the site we wanted. The lady had just checked availability, so theyknewwhat sites were available, but weren't willing to book one with us. It seemed nice, with a lot of fun activities, but their reluctance to work with us put us off. We won't be camping there anytime soon. It's a new campground, so maybe they will figure out customer service someday.
We had a site right on the lake, with plenty of shade and full hook ups. Beautiful scenery and quiet.
Decent camp ground if the grounds were better maintained, lots of trash at all of the sites. We tent camped and the tent pads were ok nothing to brag right home about but functional. Your also nut to butt with all the other sites, talking some are less than 10ft apart. Also there was a mondo dump left in 2 of the toilets at the rest room near our site.
