Thousand Trails Natchez Trace

We go a few times a year. It’s a little older but they are doing a lot of work to build and grow the park.

This campground has continually gone downhill since it's inception.  I sold my membership for about a tenth of what I paid for it and still used it a couple times a year just paying the fees.  Full timers killing the park and little maintenance done on the sites.  Better RV Campground near this place.

We were sent to a site in Phase 2, drove at least a mile from the amenities to get there. Site had not been mown for quite some time. Weeds were tall. In fact, we had to search for the sewer connection. We left 3 days before the end of our reservation.

It’s a large campground with a lot of full time campers on site. Nice lake at 102 sq acres in size. Did have an issue that most sites are only 50 or 30amp hookups only, so I had to borrow a 30 to 120 adapter. The hiking trails were closed which sucked since I was looking forward to a hike with the dog. They are building a new pool. Good luck getting a lakeside site since I was told only 8 are available and are full most of the time.

The campground is quite large with lots of things to explore. A lot of the roads, especially around the campsites were in need of repair. I had full hookup with 30 amp service, though not all of the sites have sewer. All of the lakeside sites are taken up by resident campers (of which there are a lot). I had absolutely no cell service through Verizon and my T-Mobile 5g internet had no reception either (even with a booster). Luckily, I was able to rely on my Starlink. A lot of the buildings looked like they had seen better days, but were maintained as well as they could be. Staff were nice and pleasant. Meriwether Lewis death/gravesite was nearby and interesting to check out. Not a whole lot else to do in the area. There is a low bridge (11ft) that you need to pass under to get onto the Natchez Trace Parkway. If you can’t fit, you have to take Napier road north several miles. There is a wal-mart in town about 20 or so minutes away.

So many bad reviews for this site. Complainers!! Yes big hills and horrible roads in the park, but your in the sticks, sooo.... Plenty level spots. Some Sites are full and some are partial hook-ups. Plenty spots w easy access and plenty not so easy. Wifi is available to purchase $25 for the week, no issues thus far. Beautiful location. Natchez Trace Pkwy has plenty to learn and explore!!! Cute, lively little towns nearby that have kept up that old town look with awesome shops! In Hohenwald there is an elephant sanctuary. It has a location in town to teach about that sanctuary (No elephants are kept there)

Pool was out of order. Roads needed a lot of love. Wifi was not good. General store was nice and employees were all nice. Close to Merriweather Lewis's final resting place.

Great camping spot. Quiet and very spacious. We had the entire primitive side to ourselves. Plenty of amenities, close to all the waterfalls and nature trails. The beach was an awesome bonus. The price for primitive was a tad extreme.

The park has really nice roads and stops for viewing. Our full hookup camp site was next to water and lots of trees. Nice swimming area with a big pavilion.

Lots stacked in to close of each other. Felt like a trailer park. And this is a 1000 trails site? Not gaining confidence in a membership option here..

This park is rundown very little to know sewer or RV dumps most of the people there are permanent residents seems to be more that of a mobile home park for RVs all the sites that have blackwater dumps are taken up by the permanent residence that live there has no access to the lake for campers have no trails in order to hike or explore the outdoors phase 2 campsite that does have a few maybe six or seven sanitation or sewer dumps is about 3 MI from the store or any of the amenities that they say they have in the park the tennis court looks like it has not been used in 10 years the pool was empty and the rest of the park looks run down the roads within the park look washed out and have not been in repair in a long time

Very beautiful place ! Cabins are spacious clean and furnished ! Dishes to use and pots and pans ! Even shower towels ! ! Right by the water and last minute reservations ! There’s Lots of stuff to find yourself doing to relaxing by the water to playing bingo at the hall ! To renting a kayak or pontoon ! Has dog park and swimming pool and beach area ! Has laundry rooms and bath n shower houses heck ya ! Rec center was closed due under construction put you can shoot pool and lounge around play foosballs and air hockey ! Movie theater ! But volley balls an racket ball n swimming pool at the rec center was closed but front pool was open ! Great place most definitely need to be a member for yearly round visits !!!

This place is run down full of none members. Looks like a run down trailer park sheds over camper washer and dryers in storage building loud ATV people making this there prememant resident,s cabins are rented out to monthly residents just a junk yard

We camped in the RV area. It was clean and well cared for, close to the water and a very clean shower house. We are definitely going to be coming back!

Well I planned to stayed for two weeks, but only stayed one night. Main reason could not get a signal. Next when looking for a site more than a few were trashed. Not just a little bit someone just didn't care. I would think the park would do some cleaning, but did not seem like it. The 3 stars are due to not being there longer so don't feel it would be right to go lower

Stayed in Pin Oak Campground. Large sites nicely spaced. Full hook ups. Senior discount. Will handle tents to big rigs. Beautiful lake view. Friendly people. Bath house nice and clean. Long nice drive back to campground cell services very weak. Long trip back for supplies come prepared.

Large showers and clean restrooms. Spots by the lake are a must.

Pros:

Excellent WiFi. Not free but inexpensive and worth the price. You can actually stream with it. Very clean Friendly staff Lots of activities in park, and many more along the nearby Natchez Trace Parkway.

Cons: Game room has seen better days. Not very many sites with sewer. Some sites look really old.

Overall worth a stop, even the few cons don't take away from how great the campground is.

My wife and I really enjoyed this campground. Lots to do on the property and surrounding areas. WiFi was $5.95 a day but pretty slow.

We really enjoyed our stay at Natchez Trace Campground. It's a great location for some hiking and sight seeing along the Natchez Trace Parkway. It's very remote and little to no cell signal. While we were there, they were installing a brand new Wi-Fi system to cover the entire Campground. The staff was really nice. We were showing up a little after they closed and they hung around for us. They also warned us about a low bridge on the way in and how to avoid it.
