Brushy Mountain RV Park

Situated on the grounds of the Historic Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary in Petros, this recently opened RV park runs $75–$85 per night for full hookup sites with electric, water, and sewer. Sites are level pads, with young trees planted between them that currently provide little separation. Most campers here arrive with side-by-sides and OHVs to access nearby trails, and a large adjacent lot accommodates trailers. An on-site pizza restaurant and general store add convenience, and the private shower and bathroom combo rooms, each code-accessed, are well-maintained. The penitentiary itself hosts concerts and tours, drawing a different crowd alongside the OHV crowd. Campers exploring campgrounds around Petros will find Frozen Head State Park Campground a few miles northwest if a state park setting fits the itinerary better.
