A nice peaceful place. Well maintained, friendly staff

Rocky Point Recreation Area

Nice spacious sites

Being charged $6 or $7 as a reservation fee is a tad excessive when you’re paying $28 for electric only site. Drop-toilets available. Dump station and potable water

If you can boondock, plenty sites on opposite side of lake ( see Belle Fourche Dam & Reservoir, and it’s free)

Ground was so parched-grass do dry that it hurts pooch to w as ok on it

Overall, a nice peaceful place. Well maintained, friendly staff

Upon arrival as l, previous camper left his crap in the fire ring

Last minute find

We booked a night as our plans had changed, what a gem! We were very impressed, the facilities are impeccable. Site was perfect, level, well kept and very spacious. We had a site right on to the lake. Would highly recommend, it checks all the boxes and that sunset!

Beautiful area, campsites on water, somewhat loud

Camped at site 27E, which was close to showers/bathrooms and playground. Site was on water’s edge. Campground is large and was nearly full on a Friday night so it was somewhat loud. Lots of people fishing and boating, overall a great experience.

Lakeside sites

The lake is nearly full, so waterline was 40-50 feet from campsite. Very quiet, very green right now. I was across from restrooms with running water (nice change of pace for me). Host site was right there as well. However, hosts never stopped by to confirm who I was.

Nice big campground with lake views

Rocky Point was a delightful stay! The campground was large, so it was easy to roll in and find a site without a reservation. Most sites are on the water, with sweeping views of the sunset. Our site (and many others) had a little path so you could put your feet in the lake and watch fish and birds enjoy the water. Sites were large and spacious, so even with neighbors, it felt pretty private. Showers were very nice!

Peaceful quiet campground with wide open views

We stayed one night  and enjoyed the waterfront view and sunset. The water was way down and appeared murky so we stayed out of it. Most lots are not level so pick accordingly if unable to self level.  Vault and flush toilets so pick your site according to need.

Awesome!

Really like the layout of this CG, it’s spacious and scenic. There are toilets but we used our trailer, so I can’t report on them. The reservoir is pretty (was really low when we went) and close to all of the sites. There is a playground and a dog park.

Nice location

It’s a clean and organized camp ground. Great for water activities. Quiet. Only not enough shade trees on some of the sites.

Great place to camp.

Water is usually calm in the morning and evening. It is a great fishing lake too. I have never had a bad experience from the times I’ve been there.

Nice & Clean

Rocky Point Recreation Area is clean and quiet. Access to the reservoir was very easy. There is a small sandy beach is available for swimming. The facilities were clean and in good repair. It's a nice area for kayaking, canoeing, or fishing.

It was on the upper end of what I'd want to spend for a campsite with the reservation fee and the out-of-state fee for South Dakota.

Decent place, not the quickest/easiest to get to

Stayed here for a night in Sept 2020. Came in at night. It wasn’t an easy place to get to. (Unless Waze decided to take us on a scenic drive through the town!) I thought it might be a good location for one night on our way to Devil’s tower, but it was too much extra driving getting to it. But, the campground itself was nice. We stayed next to the lake. The showers/bathrooms were clean.
