Rocky Point was a delightful stay! The campground was large, so it was easy to roll in and find a site without a reservation. Most sites are on the water, with sweeping views of the sunset. Our site (and many others) had a little path so you could put your feet in the lake and watch fish and birds enjoy the water. Sites were large and spacious, so even with neighbors, it felt pretty private. Showers were very nice!
Pulled into this park on a whim after a day of driving along I-90 and so glad we did! This was an excellent park with great amenities. We camped in the cart-in sites overlooking the prairie. The sites were back in the woods, but the park had carts you could use to haul your stuff back. Lots of bird watching, and we even spotted the bison herd on the range! Spectacular views on a clear night too. I will definitely stop there again when I’m nearby!
Stopped into Illini State Park on a Saturday night and was pleased to see plenty of spots open to roll into. Primitive tent sites were plentiful in the woods, and some RV sites along the water were open as well. It wasn’t the best park in the world, but for $10, it was a fine place to stop.
