Black Hills NF Dispersed off SD-244 near Mt. Rushmore

Description

Black Hills National Forest's ponderosa-pine corridor holds this roadside pull-off on SD-244, roughly a mile northwest of Mount Rushmore — close enough to catch the monument's evening traffic, but quiet well before midnight once the attraction closes. The flat, unpaved pullout accommodates a range of rigs and has hosted tent campers as well. Road noise is present but light during overnight hours, and the surrounding national forest offers ample wooded space to stretch out.
