Set within Sumter National Forest outside Carlisle, South Carolina, Herbert Seasonal Camp runs a narrow operating window from September through January. The US Forest Service manages this established campground. That fall-to-winter season aligns with hunting activity in the surrounding national forest, making it a practical base for hunters working the area. Campers considering nearby alternatives can also look at Collins Creek Seasonal Campground, another Forest Service site in the same district.
