        Winnsboro, South Carolina

Rosewood Farm and Agripark is my home. I honestly had about the most amazing childhood one could have on this very land! We hunted, fished, made mud pies and played outside for hours, as long as we were in shouting distance for supper time! I am so fortunate to be the daughter of two amazing parents, who had a dream to build a working farm from nothing more than a logging trail in the woods. They built a 3 story, 10,000 square foot house by themselves- while raising a family! We have 200 acres of farmland that features rolling hills, multiple ponds, creeks, farm animals, show horses and countless wildlife viewing opportunities. Wild turkey and deer roam free all over the farm, coveys of dove fly out from the pastures and trails, and coyotes howl in the night. Listen to the frogs croaking, crickets chirping and whipporwhills calling every evening under a magical blanket of stars. Take a guided horseback ride or nature hike through the trails that meander through the woods around the park. Our newest venture is to offer primitive camping and some cabin rentals around our 60 acre Agripark!

For those wanting to step it up a notch, we have erected a large concrete floor, covered event barn (for parties, family reunions, weddings, cowboy church, etc..,) and also a huge petting zoo barn with an area behind it for pony rides and 4-h/FFA functions. Also, a special historic Iron Horse miniature train and one mile of track has been purchased to go around the park! A greenhouse is being erected next, that will teach people about aquaponics and hydroponics! We have a rock wall, jumping pillow and many inflatables for the littles to enjoy too! Many things are on the immediate horizon for this special property. While we are under heavy construction at the moment in some areas of the park, many amenities are currently available. Why not unplug from the daily grind and spend time with those that matter most? My goal is to make this land as magical for your family as it has been for mine!

          Beautiful and Quiet

I love this place, with nice wide sites and many with views of three ponds nestled in the woods. The place was squeaky clean and the bathhouse very well designed. There are fun and funky places to visit nearby. The spring wildflowers are starting to bloom and I remember the scent of honeysuckle everywhere. A great blue heron hangs out at the fishing ponds.

          Nice short stay

We are full timers and stayed here 2 nights. Although people complain about KOA prices, we use them because we know what to expect. As expected everything was well maintained. Restrooms were spotless. Every employee we encountered was friendly and helpful. I reserved a back in space and when we arrived were told they had upgraded us to a pull through site at no extra charge. Site was large enough for 36' fifth wheel, truck, and our car fit behind rig. We could have fit a couple more vehicles if we had them. In addition there is a fuel station out front. Had to unhook, but their diesel prices were even cheaper than I could get with my Open Roads discount card. Only problem was that it is a bit of a noisy area-ambulances obviously dispatch from right down the road. Some plane noise, but we've had worse. Thank you for providing above what we expect from KOA.

          Lake Curriher Wilderness

          Quiet and Quaint

It’s the quietest stay we’ve had yet, and we go camping nearly every weekend. I will say, having the ADA tent site makes a huge difference. The regular tent “loop” is just one big open field with few trees around it, so there’s absolutely no privacy. If you end up with someone who want to be rowdy, you are in for a long night.

The gates close at 5pm during the fall/winter. Slightly around that time, the retired police chief came around to introduce himself and give me his cell number. He is just up the street and was kind to offer this for extra safety.

No showers, which we didn’t know until after we got here, saw the one bathroom, and realized there was not a shower. There is an outdoor shower.

The water at our site is not working which is a bummer but we can use the water at the outside shower. It’s non-potable but we have a filter and boil it before using it.

It’s nice to have a little store (in the office) to grab bait, snacks, or other goodies.

Outdoor adventures by day - stargazers dream at night

The colors and views of these sights were amazing. We were probably full peak for leaf change season. This is a fairly new campground with a variety of options for stay. Domes , cabins , tents and camper sites. All areas extremely clean and private. The staff and owners were welcoming and periodically checked to make sure we were good and to let us know of all the group activities if we wanted to join. So nice! Bath house clean and close. Lots of beautiful trails to walk or bike and the broad river is about a ten minute walk from the clubhouse. We had a wonderful stay and will certainly return.

          Not dependable

We made a reservation well in advance but the owner decided to cancel our confirmed reservation to accommodate a previous renter who decided to stay longer. THANK YOU YATES FAMILY! Obviously there was no consideration if we were left without a place to stay. Did they offer help finding another campground, NO. Did they offer to compensate us, NO.

          Decent Campground

We stayed 3 nights in a 31' travel trailer at site 80. Staff at counter was very friendly and provided all the information needed. Site was level side to side and paved with asphalt only wide enough for the camper. The hookups were standard location and heights no issues. Our steps come out to a large level dirt pad, not grass. Lots of trees providing shade which is nice. It had started raining after setup and the dirt quickly became mud. The bathhouse is close and clean, all tile. I wish there were curtains separating shower from dress area though. The shuttle to Carowinds was frequent and convenient. All in all, the campground was nice, we would stay again.

Aspiring to be more than it is.

Manager was clueless of the requirements for a 32 foot class C with a tow vehicle.  Tried to put us in two different campsite that a mini ultra lite would have found adequate.  Obviously no camping experience and wasn't qualified for the job.  Franchisers will hire people they know rather than qualified folks I guess.  He wanted to tell me how hard he was working to find us a suitable site, but I was disgusted after two trips around the campground.  Would a third trip work?  Dunno and don't care.  After such poor service he informed mw there was no way they would refund me for not providing an adequate site.  Bad english perhaps, but hard to describe being charged for zero service.  We liked this place under the previous management.

          Overpriced Campground

They are no longer part of KOA so they don't off any discount for the sky high rates. We paid $75 a night and decided that we will stay due to the amenities they offer for our family. We were originally told we would pay $750 a month for a site, which is higher that anyone one in there area, but decided we would pay because of the amenities. We we arrive and get ready to set up they decide that they will now charge us $1200 a month plus electricity because they put us in a site that was not large enough for our unit. There are no amenities that make that price okay to pay.

          Carowinds Camp Wilderness Resort

          convenient to Carowinds, decent campground

Older campground lots of shade.  staff very friendly and helpful. We were really surprised with how much has been invested in Carowinds over the years by Cedar Fair that the campground has been untouched.  Bathrooms/bathhouses were very clean and seem to be the one part of the campground that has been updated.  One section of the campground has been turned into long term camping and many looked like they had been there for years.  campground was quiet other than noise from air traffic as airport is nearby but it was minor.   Campsites have decent space in between each other which is great bc the sites are small in length and you will be parking either beside the rig or sideways in front of it. We stayed in a back-in site and most back-in sites seemed rather level but pull throughs were hit or miss on that aspect.  If you are staying here to go to the park then it is very convenient and has an excellent shuttle that runs frequently and drops you off near the front gate.  Very small camp store that has most of the basics. Campground overall is clean, safe and secure but we expected a little more from theme park campground.  We live nearby and are pass holders at Carowinds so we will likely stay frequently due to the convenience.

          Nice campground, lots of amenities.

Overall, this is a very nice, clean park conveniently located to the interstate I-85) and attractions in the area. It has all the amenities you would expect to find at a KOA such as a swimming pool, playground, dog park, miniature golf, store, clubhouse, and more (including goats). It is by far the nicest private campground in the area that we have stayed at.

This KOA has 127 sites offering varying degrees of services to accommodate RV's, tents, and those wanting to rent cabins. We chose a 50-amp full hook-up back-in site but were upgraded to a pull-thru so we could be in a sunny location to mitigate the chilly air. How nice of them! Our site (#79) was perfectly level as were most others (but not all). Water, electric, and cable hook-ups were well placed at the site and worked fine. We paid $37/night(with the KOA member discount). Nice, large grassy area for dogs to walk and sniff and there is a decent size dog park.  Roads and pads are hard packed gravel with grass in between sites. Some sites are set in a wooded area while some are out in the open with plenty of sun and satellite coverage. The park is big rig friendly and the roads are easily navigable. All sites have a picnic table and some had fire pits but ours did not. Cable is included and offered over 50 channels. Wifi worked well at our site.  The laundry was small with three washers and three dryers but very clean and had a decent book exchange. The bathroom and showers were super clean and looked like they were updated recently.

The campground is extremely clean and the owners/employees are super friendly. There is a short hiking trail (less than a mile) through the woods and plenty of green space in front of some of the pull-thrus. playground large swimming pool with large deck putt putt with lots of goat humor.

The only downside would be the closeness of sites but that is pretty much what you expect from private RV parks. Fortunately, we did not have neighbors right next to us which gave us more space. I'm usually not a KOA fan but have to say this one was great for our overnight stay and we would recommend it.

This was my family’s first time tent camping in the cold weather and it wasn’t that bad. The lakeside tent area provided beautiful scenery with access to restrooms and showers. It wasn’t too crowded as it was military members only and you can’t beat the price for a lakeside spot. We would definitely go tent camping here again!
