Overall A Very Peaceful Experience

Campsites are spaced well apart with lots of room in each site. Bathrooms are nothing special. Make sure to bring water shoes down to the river -(It’s super rocky). Phone Service is super bad so be prepared to go off grid!

Small quiet campground that's first-come, first-served

I showed up around 3pm on a Friday and was barely able to find a walk-in tent site. All the car-accessible sites were taken and the only reservable site is the group spot. Nice and quiet camping, no noisy neighbors. I loved it here for a getaway but it was a smidge boring. The creek isn't that deep so it was family-friendly.

This place is awesome!

Jones creek used to be just a river day until one of our friends had their wedding there. We all camped there the night before the wedding and the day if tje wedding with the Bride and Groom. This was my first time camping there and I've got to say it was so amazing we have made it a couple times a year on a regular basis

Fun relaxing place to stay

We love staying in the campground! There are many river acess points, the forestry center, walking trails and wildlife all within walking distance. The campsites are on a first come first serve basis and many of them are pretty big. The sites are pretty private, bathrooms within a short distance and the quiet hours are from 10pm-7am

Summer River Fun

Jones Creek Campground

This one is down the road from Elk Creek, you can camp one night in each if you want to make a weekend of it. Good buffer of trees between the campgrounds, longer driveways.

Definitely check out the Tillamook Forest Centery, you can even hike over from the campground.

Water on site, trash, friendly camp hosts.

The river is where it’s at, folks are swimming, tubing and fishing dawn to dusk. Folks jumping off the bridge and having picnics. Sites are drive in and walk in depending on your preference. Showed up late and had to leave early, didn’t get a chance to explore much but it looked prety nice.

Lots of exploring to be had

While we attempted to stay in Jones Creek, all sites were full. However, we continued up the road which wound its way around a mountain and found a lovely spot away from the busy campground below. So peaceful and relaxing. Dirt bike paths around too.

Highway 6 Stopover

Pretty standard campground in the Tilamook Forest. Sites have pretty good privacy and a number of them had a decent number of trees for hammocking. Camp hosts sell firewood for 5$. Bathrooms were close to sites and decent. The site was pretty quiet. There are ATV trails nearby so lots of dirt bikers in the camp.

We stayed at this campground after attending an event at the Smith Homestead which is on the adjacent property. It is very convenient, and right off of Highway 6 about half way between Portland and the coast. If you get a late start to the coast, it's a great site to stopever on your way.

The lower loop near the river is currently under construction and much of it was closed. There is a trailhead for the Willson River trail within the campground which makes for a great early morning hike.
