Trask River County Park

Accessible year-round via paved road, Trask River County Park sits 20 minutes east of Tillamook in Oregon's Coast Range forests. The Oregon Department of Forestry manages this established campground, which accommodates RVs up to 45 feet and offers both drive-in and boat-in access. Reservations are available for campers who prefer guaranteed spots.

The campground splits across both sides of the main road, creating distinct camping areas labeled A, B, and C loops. Reviewers consistently note that the C loop provides more privacy and seclusion, while the A loop works better for larger groups. Multiple vault toilets serve the property, and hand pumps throughout the campground provide potable water. "For clean water there is multiple pumps around the campsite, bring your own soap," advises Savannah S.. A dump station, picnic tables, and firewood sales round out the amenities.

The Trask River flows alongside the campground, offering swimming holes and wading opportunities during warmer months. A trail leads down to the river from the individual camping areas. Campers report hearing the water flow throughout their stay, and some wake to elk grazing in the open grassy areas near the playground. Cell service is nonexistent at the campground, requiring trips into town for connectivity. Campers seeking additional options can explore camping near Tillamook for comparison. The main road through camp sees traffic at higher speeds, so pet owners should keep animals leashed and supervised.

Great visit

The campground is split by the hwy. sites on each side. We preferred the “C” loop. It’s seems more secluded with more privacy. If you have a large group the “A” loop might be a better option. Just depends on your preference. We had a great visit, outside of one campsite that had a overly intoxicated camper. It was quickly resolved and didn’t take too much away from the campground experience. Would definitely go back.

Great first stay w/young kids

We just stayed 2 nights with our 5 & 3-yo’s and had a lovely time. Sites are currently available with a blocked space between them, which was great for distancing. The campground itself is fairly open but our site was at a dead end and was very quiet. Great river scampering to be had!

Nestled in the back country

Great campground in the middle of the forest. Vault toilets and a little path down to the river on the side that has individual camps. Our Pop-Up fit in nicely! There is an area on the other side of the road for large group camping. Firewood for sale. Nice quiet place! Heading back for the 4th!

Private and Peaceful

Trask River Campground is 20 minutes away from Tillamook. There is not a lot of service around the area going to Tillamook so go straight to Tillamook town center and start your GPS for accurate directions (or until you get good service). You will have no service whatsoever up at the campground but that’s what camping is for, to enjoy your time outdoors! You might as well get all of your needs in town before you head up, Safeway in Tillamook has bundles of wood for $5.99, for two nights we used 4 bundles (they come with fire starter kits).

There is no showers or sinks but there is multiple “vault” toilets around the campground. For clean water there is multiple pumps around the campsite, bring your own soap.

Nice swing set and grassy areas for kids or pets to run around. If you’re lucky enough you will wake up to elk grazing in the grassy areas.

There is a main road in between the campgrounds since sites go from A-C. People fly up and down that road at 50+ MPH so watch your kids and pets.

Multiple trails and cool things to see around the campground! Enjoy!

Good for keeping kids

We love going to Trask Park. It hasn't a nice river and it's safe for the kids to run around. Its out of town, yet close enough to go to the store. It's nice to disconnect from cell phones.
