Within Siuslaw National Forest, Alsea River Corridor provides established camping along forested terrain near the Alsea River. The US Forest Service manages this campground, which features both wooded and open areas alongside creek access. Sites accommodate various camping preferences with proximity to flowing water.
The forested setting offers natural shade while open terrain sections provide different camping experiences. Alsea River Getaway sits less than a mile south for campers wanting private amenities over forest service facilities.
Description
The Alsea River Corridor meanders along the Alsea River on Highway 34 east of Waldport, a destination for fishing and hunting. Blackberry Campground and Day Use, Riveredge Group Campground and Boat Ramp, Ermie Walters and Mike Bauer Boat Ramps along the Lower Alsea River provide camping, summer water play, fishing, and fall - winter drift boating. Another group campsite lies just 4 miles south of Highway 34 at Canal Creek Campground, nestled in a small meadow and grove of Douglas Fir. Just off Forest Road 3446 to the north of the corridor hikers can find solitude and experience Old Growth Forests within the Drift Creek Wilderness, Harris Ranch and Horse Creek Trails.
