Lakeside (OK)

Lakeside, near Lake Texoma, is a solid spot for campers looking to enjoy some time by the water. With a mix of RV and tent sites, it caters to different camping styles, though you’ll want to keep in mind that some areas can get a bit overgrown, so a weed eater might come in handy.

The campground offers essential amenities like drinking water and electric hookups, making it convenient for those who prefer a little comfort while roughing it. Visitors have noted that the sites are generally well-spaced, allowing for a bit of privacy, which is always a plus when you’re trying to unwind. One camper mentioned, “Sites are asphalt and generally spaced apart so you are not right on top of each other.”

If you’re up for some exploration, there’s plenty to see around Lake Texoma. The area is great for hiking and enjoying the outdoors, and you can even take a stroll along the shoreline. Just be prepared for the occasional ant or two, as some campers have pointed out.

While the campground doesn’t allow fires, it does have picnic tables and restrooms, so you can still enjoy meals outdoors. Whether you’re here for a weekend or a longer stay, Lakeside offers a laid-back atmosphere perfect for family fun or a peaceful retreat.

Lake Texoma is a large reservoir with an excellent fishery and many access points. Boating, swimming, water skiing, hunting, birding and relaxing on the sandy beaches are the typical pursuits of most visitors. Other popular species include largemouth and smallmouth bass, white bass, hybrid striped bass, white crappie, black crappie, channel catfish and blue catfish. Also available is the scenic Cross Timbers hiking trail, a very popular trail that winds for 14 miles above the lake on rocky ledges and through blackjack woodland. Forty miles of equestrian trails surround the lake as well.

Very good lake Texoma camping on the Oklahoma side

Most rv sites are 30 amp. Section B is 50 amp. Sites are water and electric, no sewer sites. There are 2 dump sites on the way out. Most sites are mowed except f section. Bring your own weed eater. Sand burrs are noted in multiple locations throughout the park. I had 5G 4 bars with T Mobile. Sites are asphault and generally spaced apart so you are not right on top of each other. All sites are reserved and paid on line before you arrive. They need to upgrade sites to 50 amp

Nice Park

We were in B loop. Our first time out with our new camper. We were off by ourselves. Nice spot, except grass was a bit high and ants were a big problem.

However, just watched where we stepped and it was ok. We walked all over the place, did some sight seeing in other areas.

Rained out but nice area

We reserved in area D (tent camping no electric) for 2 nights. We got in the first night around 8 and it was pouring rain. So we did not stay the night. We returned early the next morning and were able to set up camp. They have concrete picnic tables, fire rings and the area we were in had a bathhouse. Stalls had a toilet, sink and shower area. The sites were pretty close together. Our neighbors were very friendly but I like having a little more space. Overall it was a good time. Just not as secluded as we are used to and the rain kind of put a damper on things.

Year round enjoyment

Year round enjoyment is part of the reason I like this place! Even though some of the campground is closed in the off season it still offers great camp sites. I've tent camped as well as RV. It is prone to flooding. It has flooded twice that I know of that caused the entire camp ground to be under water and closed for a lengthy time. They have been able to clean up and reopen with the same beauty it had before the flood. It is a Great place for the whole family!!!!
