We reserved in area D (tent camping no electric) for 2 nights. We got in the first night around 8 and it was pouring rain. So we did not stay the night. We returned early the next morning and were able to set up camp. They have concrete picnic tables, fire rings and the area we were in had a bathhouse. Stalls had a toilet, sink and shower area. The sites were pretty close together. Our neighbors were very friendly but I like having a little more space. Overall it was a good time. Just not as secluded as we are used to and the rain kind of put a damper on things.
Late review but we enjoyed this campground on our family road trip in Summer of 2019. Spacious tent sites. We had a nice area where the kids could explore the rocks. I was terrified of bears but we saw none. Woke up to a field of prairie dogs near our spot. They had self service pay station, easily accessible restroom / outhouse, wood sold on site, concrete tables, fire rings, & gorgeous views. It was a great spot. Would love to return one day.
We did not stay in the RV area and instead primitive camped along the river past the bridges. We got a very secluded spot with access the the river. There are no tables or fire rings in the section we were in but we were prepared for that and brought our own supplies. There is a bathhouse but I did not see it while we were there. There was a port a potty near the primitive area. It is right next to the highway so there is noise from that but it did not bother us at all. Kids really enjoyed the atmosphere and our experience at this location. We tubed the river the next day and then packed up since we were all pretty sun burned. The staff was very helpful since it was our first time. We will definitely return.
We had to do late check in but were able to select a more secluded site in Wolfberry to set up camp. There was a fire ban due to the heat in the area but it was okay since we pretty much just needed a place to rest for the evening before heading further north. The next morning we checked out the sights but were unable to actually do any trails. Some seemed a little difficult for our young children. The park was well maintained and the park employees were very helpful.
We enjoyed our stay. Beautiful views. 12$ a night for primitive.
