River barges pass by at all hours along the Arkansas River, creating a constant low hum that some campers find soothing while others pack earplugs. This Army Corps of Engineers campground sits directly on the water in eastern Oklahoma, offering 35-foot maximum RV sites with full hookups and boat launch access.

The compact layout keeps sites well-maintained but closely spaced, with some lots more level than others according to recent visitors. Charles A. notes that "spacious site, some more level than others" with concrete pads and patios available. A walking loop leads down to the river where sunset views stretch across the water. During fishing tournaments, boat traffic increases significantly at the dock and launch area.

Bathroom conditions vary between the two facilities, with one requiring a longer walk to avoid unpleasant odors. Hot showers and drinking water are available, along with a dump station for RVs. The campground includes two playgrounds and allows campfires. "Right off the lake with awesome scenery," observes Noel L., though renovations are ongoing for pads and picnic tables.

Reservations fill quickly, especially on weekends, making advance booking through the national system essential. The seasonal operation from early May through late September works well for campers who don't mind industrial river sounds and want direct water access.
