Welcome to Whispering Hammock Acres! Come pull up your RV or tent to this beautiful private oasis. Only 1 min from the exit ramp off Highway 16, this is perfectly located and very easy to get to after your travel to the area. Charlotte is within only 35 mins driving distance or visit Lake Norman within 10 minutes from our property. DuGaren Venues & Vineyard is only a 3 minute drive from us right around the corner. There are so many charming towns and shops very close to here to explore as well. Drive down the gravel road to the back of the property where you will find your RV/Tent site. Enjoy the beautiful wild deer grazing through the property and the fireflies at dark. You can walk up to the spring fed stream on the property and enjoy the beauty of the area. You are welcome to pet and feed the friendly goats in the pasture. Please only feed the fallen apples from our apple tree, carrots, or lettuce to the goats (no people food please).

Nestled in the Pisgah National Forest adjoining the Blue Ridge Parkway at Milepost 324.8, near Spruce Pine, NC.

Bear Den Mountain Resort guests love our spacious campsites with plenty of trees, our lake/beach for swimming and catch and release fishing (no license required). For hikers, we have over 13 miles of trails for you to explore, two with waterfalls.

Let the kids bring their bicycles to Bear Den. We also have basketball, volleyball, table tennis, shuffleboard, horse shoe pits, playgrounds and a game room with pool tables, air hockey and arcade games. Never a dull day at Bear Den Campground and everything for your enjoyment right here.

Bear Den's Trading Post has ice, drinks, firewood, souved cabins and free WiFi hotspots at 3 locations throughout the resort. Souvinirs as well as some food items for your camping needs.

Steele Creek Park & Campground

Located along 1600 ft of the North Toe River, Buck Hill Campground is the perfect place for families to relax and play! We offer sixty-nine large shady RV sites, each equipped with picnic tables, fire pits, and full hookups with 20, 30, and 50 amp service. 

The campground features 144 acres of hiking trails in the Blue Ridge Mountains.  Enjoy a lazy ride down the river on one of our river tubes, spend the day fishing from our trout filled waters stocked by the State Hatchery, or enjoy a challenging hike to the top of Buck Hill Mountain!  

Primitive tent campers will enjoy our open grassy fields overlooking our pond, as well fire rings, picnic tables, water spigots, and several wooden deck pads. For those that like to camp but prefer to sleep on a bed as opposed to pitching a tent, enjoy our camping cabins!! And if you prefer “glamping” then our new tiny home cabins provide all the amenities of home!
