Boone Fork Campground

Boone Fork Campground, near Boone, North Carolina, is a rustic retreat tucked away in the National Forests of North Carolina. This place is perfect for those who want to immerse themselves in nature without the frills—just you, your tent, and the great outdoors.

The campground is a gateway to adventure, with the Boone Fork Trail winding through the area and leading to the stunning Hebron Falls. Visitors have raved about the scenic beauty, with one camper noting, “There are so many breathtaking views in this area! Make sure you get up for the sunrise!”

While the campground doesn’t offer amenities like electric hookups or showers, it does provide essential facilities like toilets and trash disposal. Some campers appreciate the accessibility, as it’s close enough to the parkway to make it easy to get to, yet still offers a sense of seclusion.

If you’re up for a little exploration, Price Lake is nearby, where you can rent kayaks or canoes to enjoy a day on the water. Incorrect info

The previous 2 reviews are incorrect. This is not near the parkway. There is a boone fork on the parkway but it is not this one. This is a old national forest campground that has been shut down several years. You can still use it but not maintained and is a good walk from the gate to the old campground.

Camping Right off the Parkway

The campsite is in the beginning of a 5 mile loop through the wilderness that takes you to Hebron falls. My only complaint is that you are close enough to the parkway to see and hear cars go by, but this makes the campground extremely accessible for everyone. The terrain is also flat and easy to hike through, making it a good long trail for beginners or children.

Camping on the Blue Ridge Parkway

This campground offers so much to do on the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway. There is a 5 mile long trail that goes through the campground called Boone Fork Trail. This trail leads to Hebron falls where you can explore giant boulders and have a picnic. There is also an area just 1.5 miles from the Boone Fork Trail parking lot where you can go swimming and sliding off rocks. There are also many picnic tables along the river with small charcoal grills. Price Lake is also located next to the campground and offers kayak and canoe rentals by the hour. There are many other hiking trails near by along the parkway. This campground is only 30 minutes away from Boone, NC which offers an abundance of great restaurants and shops. It can get pretty busy during the summer so you will want to check in as early as possible if you don't have a reservation.
