Wonderful staff we were there from Monday (Labor Day) thru Wednesday so very quiet. I understand it is busy on weekends and holidays but we are lucky enough to camp during the week.
Site was large and very level. Bought new Anderson levelers and haven’t even had a chance to use them.
Restrooms were nice and clean, owner was very sweet, sites good size and those on Loop B were back in and shaded/private.

We stopped here for one night on the way home from DC. The owners are super nice and helped back us into the site. They have food available for purchase and a large camp store. Bathrooms were individual rooms with toilet/sink/shower and were spotless with endless hot water.

This is a quite place way back in the mountains of Southern Virginia. The roads going into the campground is very narrow and steep up and downs. My breaks were gone by the time I got to the entrance. Mostly boaters go here to camp and mostly locals. The site has water, 50,30,and 110 hookups. No…

I was looking for a campground in the latter half of April and so many of the NF and NP campgrounds were not yet open. My plans had been up in the air, so I hadn’t made reservations anywhere. Jumped on The Dyrt and located this KOA just off the Blue Ridge Parkway that was ideally located for my…

The police visited us bc we were drinking outside of our camper. He was very nice and explained no alcohol allowed. This is clearly stated and we were in the wrong. Spaces are not private but the lake is beautiful. I can see where some people would love this campground. We canoed and that was fun.
Sites are very close together with just a small spot of outdoor personal space. The campground sits on a hillside with multiple gravel roads. Although the landscaping is nice, there’s no trees near any campsites for shade. It’s right near the main highway which is convenient, but also noisy. No…
Not good camping if your in a tent
Wide spaces with lots of room under big shade trees. This campground is a muni but is is very well maintained. It is convenient to the highway, clean bathrooms and next door to a 4 mile paved exercise path with mountain bike trails in the middle.
Lots to do here, great trails for hiking. The campground was nice, some spots were more level than others and there wasn’t much screening between sites, but in all the setting was beautiful and the park was worth the visit. The bathhouse was clean . The hot water in the shower wasn’t that hot,…
My husband and I did a South East Tour this winter and stayed at 12 RV Parks. The folks at River Walk RV were the most accommodating pleasant people we ran in to. The "Welcome Bag" was a nice touch and very appreciated. No other park offered such a nice token.
The campground itself was not…
We were looking for a campground near by over Martin Luther weekend and used the Dyrt app and found this nice campground. All the sites were very roomy, many pull through sites, very clean and very friendly hosts. All sites were gravel and have a fire pit that you can move around to where you want…

Our family has camped here multiple times. Great place to stay due to clean facilities and well kept sites. The lake is perfect for little ones and even grownup kids. Also love the trails that surround the campground. Would definitely recommend for a camping trip.
Easy access right off 85, but far enough its quiet. Nice really long pull through sites, place is well maintained and lots to offer, whether passing through or wanting to explore the area. Nice clean bathhouse, modern, fairly new, full hoopups include cable and wifi, you wont be disappointed. They…

Beautiful location, 20 mins from Pilot Mountain, 5 minutes from Mt Airy. The staff was very friendly and truly cared to make sure your stay was going to be a good one. This was my first time ever camping in a fifth wheel, and I felt very comfortable throughout my stay. My RV neighbors were great…
