Tentrr State Park Site - NY Taconic State Park: Orphan Rd Site A

About

The Orphan Road Tentrr sites are in the northern, Copake Falls area - about a 5-minute drive to Ore Pit Pond. They are located along the Harlem Valley Rail Trail, making it the ideal spot for cyclists or hikers who want to explore the surrounding trails. This is a hike-in campsite with views of a small pond, approximately a 9 minute walk on flat mowed grass from the parking area. CAMPERS MAY NOT DRIVE TO THEIR CAMPSITE AT ANY TIME.

Your campsite accommodates up to 6 campers with 2 on the Queen bed in the 10' x 12' Safari platform tent and up to 4 additional campers in the included pop-up tent. For parents with toddlers or young children, the spacious canvas tent can fit a pack-n-play or even a twin air mattress next to the Queen bed. The Queen bed is outfitted with a 5" memory foam mattress. No linens or pillows are provided - so please bring bedding, and, if you plan to use the pop-up tent, mats or air mattresses are recommended for comfort.

Taconic State Park is located along 16 miles of the Taconic Mountain Range, sharing a border with Massachusetts and Connecticut. Two developed areas, Copake Falls and Rudd Pond, offer an extensive trail system with terrain that varies from easy to challenging, offering spectacular views. Bike or stroll along the Harlem Valley Rail Trail, hike to Bash Bish Falls, just over the Massachusetts border or up Brace Mountain, the highest point in Dutchess County. Stop at the newly created Iron Works museum to learn about the iron industry at the former site of Copake Iron Works, established in 1845.

Your Tentrr site also has a picnic table with a prep station, two Adirondack chairs, and a fire pit with grill top.

The Space: Beautiful hike-in campsite amongst rolling hills with great access to walking trails

Interaction with Guests: Upon check out, you should leave-no-trace of your stay and be sure your campsite is returned to its natural glory! While Tentrr does not charge a cleaning fee, we do expect campsites to be left how they were found. After you check out, take everything you brought in and be sure to leave your trash at the designated location.

If a Tentrr Host submits an incident report after your stay that details evidence of trash or damage to the campsite or to state park property, Tentrr reserves the right to charge a minimum cleaning fee of $50. Just make sure to follow the Camper Manual posted at your campsite and you'll be set!

Reservation Modifications/Cancellations: Please note the terms of the cancelation policy as they are outlined in your confirmation email. Your Tentrr Host is unable to change or cancel your reservation on your behalf, and they are unable to waive any cancellation fees (if applicable). If you have any questions regarding modifications to your booking, please reach out to Tentrr Customer Support.

Other Things to Note: There is no car camping or parking at the site. You must unload your supplies at the parking area - driving to the campsite strictly prohibited.

There are no park restrooms or park facilities, including dumpsters, located in the Orphan Road area. This is a primitive campsite.

Campers are responsible for hauling their own gear - pack accordingly.

Be sure to bring your own food, firewood, and bedding.

There is no electricity available at your Tentrr site.

Anything you pack in, you must pack out. This is "leave no trace" camping.

Campers MUST take all trash with them upon departure. There are not park dumpsters available for campers. If you do not follow this rule, you will be charged a cleaning fee.
