Swimming and fishing enthusiasts will find direct access to Spruce Creek at this owner-operated campground in Dolgeville. The waterway runs more like a river than a typical creek, providing multiple spots for wading and angling along the property's extensive frontage.
The single owner manages the entire operation, personally escorting campers to their sites and assisting with hookup procedures. Sites accommodate RVs up to 50 feet with full hookups available, though larger rigs must stay in the open terrain areas rather than the wooded sections. The internal roads are unpaved dirt surfaces that can develop significant potholes, particularly challenging for longer trailers. Sites 2 and 3 sit directly on the creek bank with easy water access, while back sites offer more privacy away from the main camping areas.
A small playground features pirate ship and castle equipment for children, and the on-site camp store stocks basic camping supplies. Greg S. noted getting "a water and electric site, ice, and a huge bundle of firewood for 38 bucks total." The bathrooms have been recently updated and maintained.
Campers seeking additional options can explore campsites near St. Johnsville or visit nearby Herkimer Diamond Mine KOA for a different camping experience. The seasonal operation runs from mid-April through mid-October, with reservations accepted for guaranteed site availability.
