Favorite Camping Experience

This campground is my absolute favorite. The WiFi is a bit shotty but it brings our family back to nature like no other. The kids are kids!!! They play in the creek, get dirty, build fires and hike on the premises. We have stayed here twice, once with the kids and once without. The family that operates this place are the friendliest and most accommodating hosts I have encountered. They go out of their way to make sure their guests are happy. We went during August the first time and October the second. They had a Halloween haunted house set up. It was wonderful. The kids had such a blast we’re going to make it a point to come annually. We are already booked for this coming October. We even met a group of friends here and planned to return when they do as well. Thank you Camp Taylor!

Nice for a quick stop, wish we stayed longer

We arrived late after traveling all day and were greeted by the park rangers who were super friendly and checked us in. It was easy to find our site and the dump station. We stayed for only about 12hrs because it was the half way point on the way home from a longer trip. We set up the campsite, grilled some dinner, made a campfire and sat outside for about 30min and then went to sleep. It was a very quiet night, the site was basically level although it did look as though others were not. We had a good rest and left the next morning to continue our travels. While leaving we saw some deer and a few trails which I really would’ve loved to hike but we didn’t have the time. I would definitely return and next time try and camp for 2nights to explore a bit more. There were many other people camping at the time, mostly in small campers or tents. The weather was good while we were here and it was a fair $20. Definitely recommend. Worth the money for a quiet night not too far from 95.

Decent place to stay for a few nights

We arrived on a Wednesday night after the office had closed but there was a person available at the gate to check us in. Went right to our campsite and set up for the night, campsite was flat and located right near the jump pad which was great for us. The next few days were nice as well, we had a few hot days to get in the pool and sprinkler area which were all clean and easy to access at the campsite. We walked up to where the playground and Gaga pit were and they seemed nice enough but didn’t stay there long because our children were more interested in the jump pad anyway. It was easy to bike around the campsite and you can rent a golf cart as well. This campsite was close (walking distance) to the main strip (business 17) of Myrtle beach. A close drive to all the Myrtle beach attractions and the beach as well. We visited in April and were very lucky to have hot and sunny weather. The day we left was raining and very cold. Check out was fine, no issues. Compared to some of the other RV resorts in the area, the price was better but they had less amenities for children. I also prefer more dispersed sites and more privacy which I doubt is offered here but was good for a few days. Thank you, we’d return.

Lake access at Campsite

We’ve stayed here for 4 nights, couldn’t be happier. The sites are private enough and many have lake access (ours does) right from the campsite. It’s very peaceful, friendly people, lots of fun. We fished for hours, kayaked on the lake and the kids caught minnows. Lots of wild life to watch (turtles, fish, birds and more). Beautiful well kept, clean and private.

This was a great campground with a ton to offer

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this campground resort! Multiple playgrounds, minigolf, plenty for the kids to do. You can rent a golf cart, shoot pool, or play table tennis. It’s pricey but has all amenities. I wish there were a few more private sites but there was ample space. We stayed across from two cabins as we were traveling with two families that do not own RVs to be near to them. We had a blast!!!!!

Full hook up would’ve made this better, other than that 5stars

We had an amazing time at this park! Friendly people, plenty for the kids to do. Playground in walking distance and private sites! We loved it here. Will definitely return. You need a long hose for fresh water in the RV. No sewer sites.

Great family fun, a bit pricey and garbage off site with no one to pick it up.

Lots of seasonals and lots of cabins, many RV sites I think all with full hookups. A bit pricey. And also no garbage anywhere near the RV sites! Rv sites were mostly pretty flat, spacious and in a wooded area which we loved. Visited in October so leaves were falling and it was perfect weather. There were not many campground employees around. Good family fun though! Plenty to occupy the kids. Playground, hayride, animals to feed (goats, chickens, donkey and pony). There were some organized activities which was nice, not as much as a Jellystone Park. We also parked backwards in our site to buddy up with our friends so if you see in the picture, the campsites really were a lot bigger but we didn’t care bc we wanted to “share the living space”. We used the rest of the campsite on the drivers side of the RV to throw the frisbee, football and play badminton.
The garbage situation was the worst. Most campsites have a service, they tell you to leave it at a specific location by a certain time or they have many garbage cans throughout. This place had their garbage and recycling very far away and without a golf cart (which they had none to offer) or a car, you’re stuck… we were traveling in a large class C (3nights) with one family in a Class A and another in a cabin. The family in the cabin had a car so they drove all of our garbage to the place for us. If they weren’t with us, this wouldn’t have been the place to go, especially for the price I was disappointed about that. Otherwise overall it was a great place to camp and we enjoyed it tremendously!

No bells and whistles but lovely people and full hook ups

WiFi very spotty, amazing camping experience. Nice owners. The playground needs updates. Beautiful lake, small hiking area for little kids right on site. Friendly people everywhere. We had a great weekend away.

Great location, beautiful views

Wonderful weekend visit in the off season. Site was level, pretty spacious and easy to back into. Campsites are located close enough to the beach/marsh. Multiple playgrounds for the kids although they were closed due to Covid. No sewers sites that I could tell, and water was off because we were a week shy of the season opening. Needed to move to dump station prior to leaving (2 night visit) and had to drive to fill the fresh water tank once while there. Nice neighbors. Dog friendly. People obeyed the quiet hours. I have not one complaint. There were hiking trails and geocaching on site. 4 stars bc no sewer at the campsite and we like full hook ups and honestly I’m guessing this is a county rule but the playgrounds could’ve been open. Outside and socially distanced after dealing with Covid for a whole year and most local parks and playgrounds being open since last May… that was upsetting. All in all we had a great weekend. Close to the LI aquarium as well! Many stores and a golf course near by too!

Fun place for families

This is my favorite of 3 Jellystones that I’ve been to. Will be returning in our new RV soon. When we stayed here, we stayed in a cabin on the hill and rented a golf cart which was a must have with three little kids. If we had stayed closer to the action, we wouldn’t have needed the cart but we were so thankful we had it after a long day of play. Facilities were clean and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It is expensive but priceless in that our kids had more fun here than on almost any other vacation. There is plenty to do and see. I only wish the characters would walk around more often. We love that they sell concessions and beer on tap. It was a most enjoyable time. Campsites are not dispersed. Will return soon!

Get back to Nature

I love this place! Plenty to do, plenty to see and plenty of privacy if that’s what you want. Our campsite was lovely and the people who own this place are so down to earth and friendly. They over extended what it means to be a host in my mind. They were knowledgeable about the surrounding towns, their campground, and basically everything nature related. This was our very first night camping in an RV (we were renters at the time). They helped us with leveling and allowed us to use their phone when we had issues with ours. They removed all garbage at a decent time and the garbage cans were located near the campsites so we didn’t have to walk far at all. The campground is beautiful with a lake, playground, miniature golf course and access to a ton of hiking. The wolf preserve, which is next to the campground, is in walking distance though I believe they will drive you if needed. We didn’t do a tour, will save that for next time. We stayed on a partial site with water and electric. The dump station was easy to access on your way out of the campgrounds. Trees were trimmed and our campsite was mostly flat and easy enough to maneuver (as first timers we did it without much of an issue but we needed some 4x4s and the owner delivered them to our site). Great place to stay with or without children. Other campers were all respectful. We stayed during Covid and everyone was following social distancing guidelines. One downside for some may be the WiFi access. Very poor signal however, we didn’t mind, it actually helped us to let loose and not be so attached to all things digital. I will 100% be returning and likely it will be a yearly go-to for us.

We loved it here and will return!

Luckily this campsite is the closest one to where my mother in law lives bc this is a wonderful one! Plenty to walk around and see, many campsites are dispersed. There is a large playground for children, ample facilities and privacy (depending on where you choose), quick walk to the beach and so much nature. Loved, loved, loved!!!! You could bird watch, go for a run, a hike or go to the beach. The people were super nice and the check in process was seamless. They were following social distancing guidelines during covid. We stayed in February and even though it was cold and rainy we had a blast. We did have one beautiful day. We stayed on a partial hook up site and I would definitely do that again. The dump station was clean and easy to use. The garbage area was organized and clean and close enough to the campsite without being too close to draw animals 100% gem. Will return!!! Great with kids or without, it was quiet and I highly recommend.

Expensive for the off season

We stayed here in the off season while there was snow on the ground. Arrived late (8pm) and only stayed the night. We pulled through, hooked up, slept and left early the next am. For what we utilized this place for it was over the top expensive at $72/night. Check in was easy and self-directed. We are not KOA members. Looked as though there were many monthly and/or seasonal renters here. We didn’t explore any facilities to comment. During the season when the amenities could be used I understand having to spend that kind of money for a site and obviously would’ve been more worth it had we arrived early. We called a few other places in the area but nothing was as convenient nor open with an availability so we just stopped here. It was quiet, couldn’t hear any cars from the highway and the other guests were all respectful. Just ok…

Convenient spot but a bit noisy.

We tried this RV Park as we were traveling because the other fell through (there was a storm and they lost power). People were very friendly on the phone. They allowed a late check in. My husband paid over the phone while we were driving and when we got there they had laid out a map of how to get to the site and a car tag. Super easy. It was pretty empty that night and we did a pull thru site. We basically just stopped, de-winterized ate some food and went to sleep. And then in the am we disconnected and left bc it was still raining and we were just passing through. All night long we were able to hear the highway (i-95) and trains passing by. My husband is an extremely light sleeper so it was much worse for him. The kids slept fine and it was just ok for me. The campsite was exactly what we needed but I cant say we would go back just because for us, it was too noisy being so close to the highway.
