    Hamlin Beach State Park Campground

    Beautiful and quiet

07 and 08 2024.  We stayed in loop A, the showers and bathrooms are newer in this area and no matter what time of day or night I went, they were clean.  Sites have a good amount of trees and shade, if you need solar, look on Google maps first before picking site.  The parkway to Hamlin may have some shorter underpasses for tall rigs, so pay attention or check ahead if you have a large rig.  The beach is great, and there are several playgrounds for kids.  Never saw the dump stations busy, but then again we didn't go right at check out time either.  Kids will be kids and laugh and play during the day, even though we're retired, we enjoy the sound of happy children.  Come quiet time, it was just that, quiet.  Odds are you will need to level your rig, dirt, stone etc., but that's to be expected, we are camping after all.  All the staff that we came in contact with were pleasant and helpful.  We live relatively near Hamlin and plan on going there several times a year.  Perfect get away.

    Stony Brook State Park Campground

Review about sites 321 to 325

I stayed here and it was very peaceful, but it was also pretty empty. Some of the sides are very close together, but if you look around, you can get one that has a little bit more privacy. Clean bathrooms, clean showers. Hikes from the site. Swimming as well!!

    Darien Lakes State Park Campground

    Great experience.

Check-in was quick and easy. Our site was spacious, clean, and pretty darn level. Bathrooms were dated, but pretty clean for the amount of traffic. Water was hot and had great pressure. We were there for @KingdomBound2024. The campground was 6 minutes from Darien lake Amusement Park. We will definitely be back next year.

    Letchworth State Park Campground

    Amazing place to stay

We had a great time here we stayed for a whole week to get the extra savings and we loved every day of it. There was something new every day. The waterfalls were amazing. The rec center had tons of activities and sports for the kids to do. They had a really cool playground, which was like a rope course.

    Sned Acres Campground

Beautiful Wide Open grounds with a lot of flat nice grass

We stayed here for Memorial Day Weekend and really enjoyed Sned Acres. The Grounds are well taken care of (although some areas around the playgrounds and pool could have been weed whacked better) there is a lot of grass and wide open areas for playing games, walking your dogs and you can let your dogs drag their leashes so they have free roam and feel like they are running free. The large pond is nice, there were a lot of campers fishing. The general store is well stocked and the family running the campground and store are very friendly. There is a nice pool for the kids. The only thing that would make Sned better is a little more spacing between the sites, they are close (we were in F130) to where if you open your window shades in your camper your neighbors are 5-10 feet away from you. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

    Sugar Hill Recreation Area Camping

Dog Friendly Retreat near Watkins Glen

We stayed at Sugar Hill for about 10 days, arriving right after Memorial Day weekend. The campground offers a variety of great options for various rig sizes, accommodating different needs comfortably. Its location is convenient, just a 15-minute drive from Watkins Glen, making it an ideal base for exploring the area.

During our stay, the campsite never even got near half full, providing a peaceful and uncrowded experience. For those seeking more privacy, there are numerous secluded spots along the side roads throughout the park.

However, it's worth noting that WiFi and phone service are pretty limited, typically ranging between 1-2 bars. Despite this minor inconvenience, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend Sugar Hill for its tranquility and proximity to local attractions.

Bathrooms were very clean. Quiet campground. Lots of plays areas for kids. Weekend sites would be pretty tight together if they were fully booked. Golf carts not available.

    Letchworth State Park Campground

Big park with lots to do

This is a big park with a pretty nice campgrouns. The sites aren't huge, but it's nicely laid out. There seems to be a lot to do for the whole family here without leaving the campground. There's a bathroom in every section that seems to be in need of updating, but functional. The playground is huge and there's lots of room for riding your bike around. The rest of the park is huge with a ton of trails and lots to see. Only downside is that the park is so big you really need to drive around to see everything.

Lakeview Camping Area — Fair Haven Beach State Park

    We decided to move on

We drove through here but didn’t stay. The non-electric sites were pretty much all on hilly areas, most would be impossible for an RV to get level, though there were a few that would have worked.

We drove through the “bluffs” loop (electric sites), thinking it would be beautiful and look out on the water, but it was a nightmare for us, with huge RVs jam packed side by side like a parking lot.

The lakeview loop was nicer, but still too many RVs all in a row. There are also cute cabins here for rent.

When we were there the city was under a water advisory- all water had to be boiled before any kind of use. There was a dump station, and trash bins but no recycling (I’m disappointed in the lack of recycling at NY State campgrounds!) So, we moved on to Selkirk SP and stayed there instead.

    trip

This year I went on a road trip to Portugal. I had a lot of fun on this trip and definitely recommend going there. I started my trip from Faro and I didn't regret it because it turned out to be a great place to start the trip, so that's where it all started. I rented a car for my trip on Rental24.co.uk

    Letchworth State Park Campground

    Beautiful and accessible.

The waterfalls and gorge had several overlooks to enjoy if you are not able to hike. The campground is on the opposite end of the park from the falls, so it is a long and pretty drive. We enjoyed hiking along the falls trails. The museum had some interesting history, although we were left wondering how Letchwork made his original money. There were lots of lovely places for picnics.

Suzeas Gluten Free bakery is advertised on the map and located in Mount Morris. The owner is a character, and we loved all the baked goods we purchased there. It was another bonus for us.

    Another beautiful State Park

Keuka Lake is small, boat launch, small beach playground at beach and camp ground. Hiking, biking. Not far from Penn Yan, nice city, winery's are all over. TV reception there is none, cell phone not great either. Lake is clean and clear, great for fishing, boating, and swimming. Park is clean and well maintained.
