Great camp ground

The camp site had nice spacing , great environment and the views are nice . My only complaint would have to be that it’s pretty close to the Main Street so you will hear some cars passing by but other than that, it’s a great place to camp

Has lots of potential but . . .

We tent camped at Cherry Creek campground in late July 2023. We arrived about 4pm on a Saturday and there were like 2 sites available. First come, first serve, no fee, but a ranger told me that could change soon. Lots of nice tall pines. The creek was dry. Very scenic valley. There’s a short, informal trail at the north end of the campground past the bathroom. The trail goes about 0.25 miles out; so 0.5 mile round trip. A nice evening or morning stroll or both. But…there was a big group next to us that partied loud and late—with a generator that lit up their site, and ours. Oh well! At least they were enjoying the outdoors like we were, I think.

A little too close for comfort

The campsites are pretty close together but otherwise it is a great place to getaway from the summer heat. The bathroom was clean and trash cans were maintained. Beautiful drive.

One of my favorites

Nice campground with about 10 sites. With concrete picnic tables, and a fire ring. Vault toilets, hiking trails, and with cell signal. No hookups. Curative camping at its finest
