Road conditions here will determine whether a visit is possible at all. The access route to dispersed camping in this section of Cibola National Forest includes a notably steep rock face that rules out towed vehicles and anything not equipped for rough terrain. RVs are limited to 15 feet, and overnight parking at the Coyote Trailhead itself is not permitted. No fee, no facilities. The area suits self-sufficient campers with capable vehicles who want access to hiking, biking, and equestrian trails in the Tijeras corridor.
