Stopped here to use bathroom and was surprised at the popular store and restaurant. Plenty of parking for trucks and RVs
There are several dispersed sites up here along Pack River. Good for horses, camping and solitude.
We usually stay at a 24hr planet fitness if there's one in town. There is one just across the way, BUT they had signs saying no overnight parking. So we jumped on The Dyrt and saw this Home Depot as a potential. There was one large RV here when we got in around midnight. Then an 18 wheeler at 4am (Yes unfortunately I didn't sleep; my travel partner was snoring.) Pics taken at 8am. No one bothered us & this is a really nice area.
Pulled up around midnight. There were maybe a dozen other overnighter already there. Plenty of parking. Fairly quiet. Overnight parking definitely still allowed at THIS Wal-Mart.
We've traveled 26 states so far & MOST Walmarts no longer allow overnight parking. BUT this one does! Large lot connects to Petco lot & we parked closer to the Petco side. When we woke up we saw a large Motorhome there too, closer to the Wal-Mart side. No one bothered us & it was very quiet all night.
We came here planning on staying at Coyote Trailhead that was listed. Turns out you can't overnight park at the actual trailheads. And to get to the dispersed camping you have to have a jeep or similar rock climbing type vehicle & not towing anything. Crazy steep rock face in the middle of the road near the trailhead. So we turned around, saw this spot and no one was there. We spent the night, boondocking. No one bothered us.
Loud w trains going all night. Crazy wind rocking the trailer all night. The parking lot is smaller than others. Half the gas pumps were broken. They were remodeling and had no food and 1 hole bathroom. No coffee, no sodas. Maybe once remodeling done it will be better.
Extremely easy to drive down the maintained dirt roads. Skipped the 1st couple areas to come specifically to this one. There was 1 other camper but we never heard or saw them. Wonderful place to stay close to Grand Canyon. Fire Pits & Verizon 4G. Looks like it may be busier at other times of the year, based on number of fire rings about. We stayed March 29th-30th. Completely free.
Awesome RV designated pull through spots up front. Tons of Semi parking too. Clean store and bathrooms. Several food options.
Stayed 1 night in this easy to access free area near entrance to the National Park. No fee required to camp here. Was not busy at all end of March. Fire Rings randomly throughout. Verizon 5G works great here.
Driving to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. Needed somewhere to sleep. Was about 9pm. There were plenty of trucker spots, but we got the last pull through spot near the front for RVs. Kinda noisy all night, but nobody bothered us. Cops search parking lot frequently, which is great for keeping things safe but bad if you have 5yr old expired plates like the van next to us. They got busted.
Tons of space to park outside the trucker area. Spent the night. No issues at all.
Beautiful campgrounds in a canyon next to the beach. Clean restrooms & showers. Spent 3 nights here & wish we could stay longer. The only negative was no wifi or data. So zero internet on site. And Verizon phone signal was spotty at best. Once you get out of the canyon at the beach, the signal is back. But ya, no using data to do social media or watch shows or anything on phone.
Stayed at the truck parking area 1 night. Plenty of nearby food options. Lots of trucks overnight but giant parking area had plenty of extra room. The whole area is quiet/peaceful. We were able to drop and leave trailer here for a whole day to geocache the area & check out State Parks.
Pulled up around 7pm. Everything is new here, including several restaurant options. You can see a gorgeous snow capped Mtn in the distance. Clean 24hr bathrooms & store/gas. Parked to side of trucker area. Woke up around 8am & headed out. No issues.
Used the app to find a spot to stop driving as it was getting close to midnight. Saw in the 1 review that it had overnight spots for RVs. Pulled in around 1230am Valentines Day. Restrooms 24hrs. When we woke up, toured the visitor center, we've never seen so many brochures. The staff were very friendly & it seemed always cleaning. The place was very clean inside and out. Easy to pull in & large marked spots for any size vehicles. We could hear the interstate traffic but I liked it. Kinda like sleeping w a fan on. Grabbed the geocache on the way out & ate at Dennys across the way. They are currently building a giant Bucees next door to this visitor center.
