This highway rest area provides clean facilities and organized parking sections but requires noise management preparation. All visitors noted loud traffic and bright security lights, making earplugs and sleep masks essential for overnight stays.

Convenient and safe

It’s great that New Mexico allows overnight stays in their rest stops. This one is divided into three sections. One is for semi trucks, 2 the area right around the restroom and 3 a large area for cars, vans and trailer campers to park. There is shade for many of these spots. You will definitely need some sort of noise blocking for a good night sleep and a way to block out the security lights.

Super Convenient • Cool Pavilions

A great rest stop! Bring earplugs and a sleeping mask because it's super well lit (and next to the highway). I parked in January so I scored a pavilion that was tucked away in the back. There are 2 in the back left behind the bathrooms as well as two to the right as you are pulling in. Cell service was great.

Small and Old

This site was directly off the highway which is convenient but loud. The lighting at night was good. There were a few trash receptacles but not a lot. I arrived late at night and got a spot to park as a car but there were a ton of big rigs and they were all crammed in anywhere they could fit. The bathrooms were clean but old. Cell service was decent.
