Dirty and uninviting

This is one of the dirtiest camp grounds I’ve been to.  It smelled of septic gas and trash.  The bathrooms were disgusting, the pool and playground were a slimy mess.  Camp sites are small and buggy.  Open septic line everywhere.  Picnic tables were all rotten.  Not a pleasant stay at all.  This is a trailer park not a camp ground.

So I had gotten a tent site for 4 days and Roxanne the old bag in the office does nothing but talk about everyone & everytime you put in for a reservation she says I can’t give you a tent site 🤔🤔 but yet I’ve been nothing polite and

Nothing to complain about

We arrived just before check in closed for the night and we were escorted to our site which was small but it was a tent site.

Misuse of deposit policy

In my initial phone call to the campground, I reserved a site for 1 month and paid in full:

$700 monthly site fee

$35 gate card deposit

$200 deposit

8 days prior to what would have been my check in date, I canceled the reservation. After several discussions back& forth, Rox-Anne would only refund 50% of the$200 and$35(this is consistent with the campground's written policy and this is fair) but only 50% of the$700 monthly site fee(this does not apply to the campground's written deposit policy). I was never onsite, the full$700 should have been refunded. Rox-Anne's response to the fact that the$700 was paid upfront, money she wouldn't typically have access to until check in was"well you did(pay the money already) so we are keeping 1/2"

Meh

Very tight sites, hardly any tree cover (at least in the RV area). Lots of permanent campers, seemed to get quite loud in the afternoons (music blaring) and no one did anything about it (I think the music was coming from one of their workers when they got off). Tent area across the lake got loud and rowdy (again, no one that worked there said anything to calm it down- and the office was definitely within earshot). Was glad to leave.
