Whipple Cave

Bring plenty of water and snacks. A first aid kit is highly recommended. It's advisable to explore with at least one companion and to inform someone of your plans before entering. Consider bringing rope or markers to help with navigation inside the cave system.

Whipple Cave features impressive limestone formations typical of Nevada's cave systems. Whipple Cave is located approximately 3 hours north of Las Vegas, Nevada. To access the cave, use the coordinates: latitude 38.48909, longitude 115.01829. When you reach the Whipple Cave access road, you'll need to pass through a wire-fenced gate on the right side of the road. After passing through the gate, you'll continue on a dirt road for about 2 miles to reach the cave entrance. A high-clearance vehicle is recommended for the dirt road portion of the journey. Be sure to bring detailed maps or GPS as the area is remote.
