Good for overnight

Good spot for overnight.  Near highway.  Clean bathrooms and showers.

Just Passing Thru

Was just an over night stop.  Probably the best location in Elko, but.... the sites are very small in width.  when we had our slides out, we were about 4 feet from our next door neighbor..Not bad if it is just overnight.  But what if you were staying for several days?

Professionally kept RV Resort

The  Iron Horse RV Resort in Elko, NV is a real gem in the Nevada desert. It's on the main highway parallel to I-80 on the north end of town. You have to keep your eyes open on the right side to catch the entrance signage. The Resort is tucked down a private road. The office folks were very professional.

This RV Resort was extremely well kept and fairly quiet in the evening. Like many RV Resort these days, there are permanent or transient work related residents that are mostly out the perimeter sites.

All sites have concrete patios, flat and level packed gravel pads, picnic tables and full hookups. There are even a series of mini bungalows.

As you can see, Yoshi agrees!

Probably the best in Elko

Clean restrooms. The pool is tiny. In spite of appearing to be near the highway, the park is down a hill and there is no noise from it. The trains aren't terrible, but you can't escape them in Elko - expect a whistle sometime during the night. Good spacing between sites with grass. Lot's of full-timers but a number sites for short termers. Most are one-nighters. It is a shame not to stop at the free BLM California Trail museum 10 miles down the road, or Lamoille Canyon which is beautiful.

Great Place!

Good amount of space, clean, nice playground, nice laundry area, pool table, ping pong, and other games. Has a “spa” but it’s a little disappointing. Just keep in mind it’s a spa not a pool. Office staff is friendly! Would for sure stay again!!

Good stop between destinations

Nice efficient check in. Good stop over along I-80 for a night. Clean well kept. Super small pool/hot tub but did the job. Fun game room that closes at 7. Quiet park. We met a whole bunch of retired couples with dogs - they make great neighbors. Easy walk up out of the park to a few restaurants / grocery store.

The boo side of our story - We arrived on an unusually windy, rainy and thunderstorm day for one night. This was night 28 of 36 on a road trip with the kids. We had made the reservation months previously and picked a location right next to the pool. Unfortunately these site selection campground are never guaranteed and we had been moved to the end of the row - we were bummed especially since no one from the groups adjacent to the pool ever used it that we saw. A small bummer. But what do you do.

Great place

The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 was we were in site one which is right at the entrance so there were a lot of vehicles going in and out. Great staff, nice camp sites. I would stay again even at site one.

Great Site, Bad Noise

The campground is modern with all of the glamping amenities. However, Elko is a gold mine Mecca so the trains run, and run, and run. Good overnight, but troubled sleepers will struggle.

Nice park

This is a very nicely landscaped park with pull thrus and back ins. Each site has a concrete pad with a good picnic table (no butt splinters here).

One night stand

Nice friendly and we’ll layer out. Very busy with one night stays, seems like Elko is in between Reno and Salt Lake City.

Friendly park

We had a nice, full hookup site and the staff was very friendly. We had a nice view of the surrounding mountains. While the pool area was small, it was refreshing.

Perfect RV Dump/h20 Fill-up Spot

We were just passing through and the people were super nice. $10 to use the facilities. We had lunch at a picnic table too. Didn’t stay but definitely would if we pass back this way. The park looked pretty darn nice. Nice shady trees in some spots. A must because it’s blazing hot.

Just passing through and not expecting much but this campground surprised me. It’s clean with friendly staff and plenty of shade trees! Amenities: full hook-ups, small swimming pool/spa, dog park, playground, good sized game room with pool/air hockey/ping-pong/and foosball! Definitely would stay here again!!

Iron Horse RV Resort, NV

A beautifully laid out campground with gravel sites and nice landscaping. It’s nestled in the heart of Elko, Nevada, a short drive from the Ruby Mountains and a couple of smaller casinos and restaurants.

The dog park was small, but well maintained and provided waste bags. There is also a spa/hot tub available to guests which is a nice addition. They have clean bathrooms and laundry available as well.

Super nice

We aren’t rv park people at all. We definitely prefer disbursed, alone camping. However, that wasn’t a possibility last night so we decided to stay at Iron Horse. It’s super nice. Very clean and quiet. The dog park is pretty convenient and the bathrooms are huge and clean. Would definitely recommend. Having the hookups was so nice given how cold it’s getting at night. Would stay here again.

Ultra Clean Traditional RV Park

Stayed overnight here on the way back from Grand Teton. This is your basic RV park with RVs lined in neat rows side-by-side. The main office has a nice game room, laundry facilities and ultra clean bathrooms and showers. Nice leveled spots with concrete pads and some grass. Elko is a cool old Nevada town with, surprisingly, a lot to see. Please make sure to stop in at The Star Hotel for the best Basque dinner you will ever have! Bring your appetite cause it’s a TON of food!

Nice place

All sites are on pavement but are close together. It’s a nice place to stop if traveling through but too much concrete to feel like “camping”.

Looked nice, kinda pricey

We came through at 10pm on a Saturday and they had zero vacancy. Looks like after hours registration is possible if they aren’t booked up. I saw a hot tub area. Super sad we didn’t make reservations ahead of time!

Nice but noisy

We spent a night in hot August here in our Westfalia camping van. There are no tent sites but cabins and RV spots. Nice bathrooms, showers, a playroom with a ping pong table. The cabins looked attractive. It looked like a lot of people were there long-term. It really is more for RVers and those that want to stay in a cabin. I would recommend, except there is a train that goes by at least two times and blows its horn (this on a Saturday night). The coyotes in the middle of the night were wonderful but the trains weren’t. Also I had trouble getting on the internet with my iPhone 6–couldn’t connect to their WiFi.

Quiet and clean

We were traveling from Tahoe to Yellowstone and just needed a place to spend the night. This campground is very well kept. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They offer a 20% off coupon to use at the Hilton GardenInn restaurant. Their Gym and business office is also available for use if you stay  at the camp ground. There is a dog walk available and also a small pool. Very quiet and in walking distance to casino

Great price

We only stayed here one night, it was just a half way stopping point for us going into Utah. What they consider to be a pool was extremely small. The pool and the jacuzzi were about the same size, however you do have full access to the Hilton next door. The Wi-Fi and the phone service here worked great. There are no fire pits and no fires are allowed. the park was extremely clean and well-maintained. And at the casino just down the street on a Friday night they had all-you-can-eat prime rib. very affordable prices. Would definitely return.
