Lake veronic is far enough out of San Antonio to avoid the big city traffic. However it's close enough to access all the conveniences that San Antonio has to offer. My husband enjoys their stock pond for catch and release fishing. I prefer their pool and hot tub as a relaxing break. There's something for everyone here.
We have enjoyed camping lakeside, even though the path down to Lake Waco is steep and a bit tricky.
Our site was right on the lake. Luckily no one was in the site next to us, so we enjoyed a gentle slope down to the water. While we only had water and electric hook up, the dump station was very conveniently located. The water was fantastic for swimming right off our site!
We had a nice, full hookup site and the staff was very friendly. We had a nice view of the surrounding mountains. While the pool area was small, it was refreshing.
A 5 minute walk down the beach path leads to a great beach. The sites are tight, but the town was fun.
Most RV sites are very narrow, but location is a short drive to Seattle.
We were disappointed with the cramped sites, but at least noonr was butted up to the end of our trailer until our last night. They need into our trailer trying to park in the small site. When we asked the office why they assigned such a large rig there with so many other empty sites, we were told it wasn't their responsibility. We won't stay here again.
We were surprised to discover such a phenomenal 4th of July fireworks show right from our site at Sacora Station Campground. The fireworks began with 1 & 1/2 hours on July 3 and resumed on July 4 into the wee hours of the morning!
