Yellowstone RV Park

Reservations are available at this private RV park in Gardiner, which sits along the Yellowstone River just outside the north entrance to Yellowstone National Park. The park runs May through October, accommodates RVs up to 55 feet with full hookups including electric, water, and sewer, and rates start around $133 per night. Sites are assigned, and the campground is small enough that booking ahead makes sense during peak summer months.

The riverside location is the defining feature here. Several reviewers mention watching pronghorn and elk on the opposite bank from their sites, and David H. describes it plainly as "right on the Yellowstone River in Gardiner." RV sites sit close together with little separation between them, and tent sites are similarly snug, offering minimal privacy. That said, the highway-adjacent location stays quiet at night according to multiple visitors, and the sound of the river carries through camp.

Cleanliness is the most consistently mentioned detail across reviews. Eight reviewers bring it up independently, citing bathrooms, showers without timers, and laundry facilities. Staff responsiveness also comes up repeatedly. Campers note the park includes WiFi, cable TV hookups, and a dog-friendly back area where leashed pets can roam. Some RV sites are not fully level, so carrying extra leveling blocks is worth considering.

The north entrance to Yellowstone sits within easy reach, making this a practical base for day trips to Mammoth Hot Springs and Lamar Valley. The town of Gardiner provides restaurants, gas, and resupply options within a short drive. Ann F. notes the site "backed up to the Yellowstone River," which gives some RV spots a direct water view.

Campers wanting more space or a different setup can look at Gallatin NF Dispersed near Gardiner to the north, or check the Yellowstone Big Rock Inn nearby for a lodging-adjacent alternative.

Guests commonly noted the scenic riverside location and clean facilities as major strengths. Some feedback indicated tight site spacing affects privacy, though most found the peaceful river setting and responsive staff made for a pleasant stay near Yellowstone's north entrance.

Beautiful and convenient

Great little camp ground next to the river. Clean bathrooms, hot showers, laundry, wifi. A bit pricey, but probably due to the location being near the Yellowstone entrance

Destination

We arrived at our destination home for four days. Small campground but nice being along the Yellowstone River. Laundry was a life saver, Gardnier was a nice little town with lots to do. Nothing for the kids at night when you get back from Yellowstone tours.

Soothing River Sounds

We stayed here most of the time while visiting Yellowstone and Grand Teton. Open space, assigned campsites for tent and RV/Van. Clean sites, restrooms and showers. This was close to the North entrance. Great town to drive through and places to eat and get gas.

Stopover for Exploring North Yellowstone

Tent camping sites are snug and offer no privacy. Scenic spot high above the river. Bathrooms clean, showers without timer. Right on highway but little traffic and quiet at night. Good overnight if you plan to explore Mammoth and Lamar Valley. Typically I'm traveling by motorhome so I always check out the sites....this campground had tight RV sites, no privacy, generous hook ups.

Scenic in and out spot

We stayed for one night on our Trek through Yellowstone. Got in around 5 pm, hooked up, put our suits on and headed to the hot springs. There is a campground by the hot springs too but it doesn’t look as nice. This one is tucked down by the river. We were greeted warmly. Bathrooms were great.

Great location - great staff

Park was full, this RV park worked when we couldn’t get a spot in the park. Gardiner is a sweet little town and the RV park is just off the Yellowstone River

Staying outside of Yellowstone

Overall it is a decent place. Has all the hookups for our trailer. Has bathrooms and shower which we’re clean. Showers were also clean. Sites were not leveled. There were ElK droppings in our site. Part of the rustic experience since Elk were everywhere. The best part was being on the river and watching the Pronghorns on the other side.

Right on the River

We stayed here 6/10/21 during our visit to Yellowstone and Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park. Right on the Yellowstone River in Gardiner. Good location with a great view. We were in site 7. Full hook ups and cable TV. We would stay there again.

Delightful location

Only good things to say about this location. Our level gravel site backed up to the Yellowstone River where we watched the antelope feed on the cliffs and listened to the peaceful sounds of the river. Sunrises and sunsets were amazing! Staff are available and responsive, fixing our cable connection quickly so we could watch the first football game of the season. Laundry facilities are clean and it appears tent sites were located conveniently close to the restrooms. We managed to snag a site at the last minute and felt very fortunate. Convenient to Gardiner and Yellowstone, yet quiet and peaceful.
