Description
Perched in the Gallatin National Forest just above the town of Gardiner, this dispersed area sits at the northern gateway to Yellowstone — close to the highway in miles, but genuinely remote in feel. Multiple pullouts and open flats are scattered along a bumpy dirt road that climbs steeply from the valley floor, offering wide mountain views and quiet nights with little traffic. The road is manageable for 2WD and smaller rigs but steep enough to give heavy vehicles pause; an information board near the base marks where dispersed camping is permitted. Wildlife activity — including bear sign — is common in this corridor, so standard precautions apply.
