Clinton's RV options include Turah RV Park and Store with 26 year-round sites offering water, sewer, and electric hookups including 50-amp service. The park provides full hookups on gravel pads with some sites positioned near the small on-site market. Bearmouth RV Park, located along the Clark Fork River, features spacious pull-through RV sites with water and electric connections. "This is a great location along the Clark Fork river. Staff was very friendly. Sites were well maintained and sufficient," noted one visitor about Bearmouth, though they mentioned interstate noise would keep them from using it for more than overnight stops. Boulder Creek Lodge offers big-rig friendly spaces with 50-amp electric, water, and sewer hookups from May through November.

RV travelers should note that navigation to some parks requires careful planning, particularly for larger motorhomes and fifth wheels. While Turah Store & Campground provides dump station access, some reviews indicate additional fees may apply ($10 for non-guests). Cell service is generally reliable throughout the area's RV parks, with most visitors reporting 3-4 bars on major carriers. Seasonal considerations affect availability, with several parks operating year-round while others close during winter months. Pet policies vary between properties, with most allowing pets but enforcing leash requirements. Based on reviews, electrical billing practices vary significantly between parks, with one long-term resident cautioning about potential utility surcharges at certain locations.

Informal Dispersed Campsite at Fish Creek Properties Montana State Park

Big Spot adjacent to the road, Good if in a pinch

Sign says camping permitted to 14 days in a 30 day period. Adjacent to dirt road with a few trees in between. Not the most private but a good option if you need a place for the night if the nearby campsite is full. No amenities. T-mobile cell service is good here.

River access just at the entry of the turn in. Could easily pull a big rig in but may have a hard time turning it around as there is not a pull through. There is a concrete slab that is level and about 12'x25' in size  which could be good for a trailer or van without having to do much for leveling. Many vehicles/tents could fit here in the dirt area but would likely be comfortable for a single group rather than multiple camp groups.

      Black Rabbit RV

      Compact but Quiet Spot

Very full park with mostly long- term guests on gravel pads, no grass. Spots very close together but each site had a picnic table- no grills. Visitors friendly but staff were marginal. Small laundry room with old machines. Convenient location but check- in early during peak season.

      Granite Peak RV Resort

      Surrounded by mountains

If the smoke from summer wildfires were not so thick, you could see the beautiful long range, multi tiered mountains. The park is well maintained. I love the fact that they have a puttputt on the grounds. Very family friendly. The only reason for the 4 stars is that the sited are not level. All, but the premium sites (concrete pads) have a slope. Jack's were fully extended and some wheels off the ground. Pulling up on blocks was no problem. Not a ton of shade at sited. I had 5 bars of 5G AT&T. Wifi repeaters were throughout the park. Would definitely recommend.

      Lolo Hot Springs Campground

Lo Lo Hot Springs is Hot!

Very nice campground across Hwy. 12 in Montana. Campground is ill defined so it feels more like camping out in the woods. Fire pits with picnic tables. 30 amp electric with water. Dump station on site. $38.50 per night or $25.50 with senior discount. Cabins are available and there is numerous tent sites. Pretty nice campground. Across the highway is Lo Lo Hot Springs. Very rustic with a $8.00 entry fee. Inside group tub and outside pool. There is a lodge and bar also on site. We spent 5 days in our 5th wheel at LoLo.

      Granite Peak RV Resort

      Fine For a Stop-off Night

Definitely not a spot that caters to our normal priorities as it's more of a family hangout or long term place, as expected being an RV park. But it worked well as a stop-off spot for laundry, showers, electric recharge, and water fill before continuing on our way the next morning. We were worried it'd be loud being so close to the freeway, but surprisingly couldn't hear it at all.

Facilities: Laundry, showers that feel like home more than any other we've been to, mini-golf, playground, convenience store

Cell Service: As expected plenty of service being so close to Missoula

Starlink: All sites are open to the sky

Solar: All sites are open to the sky

      Placid Lake State Park Campground

      Beautiful Quiet Campground

This was a wonderful stopover on a road trip. Beautiful lake, rich forest area. Camping spots were nicely spread out, all paved. Ours, number 27 was a pull through. Easy access, a clean spacious vault toilet very close by. Restrooms with showers and flush toilets were a short distance away. THERE ARE NO SEWER HOOKUPS. However at Seeley Lake, about four miles away there is a dump station.

Excellent cell service for Verizon and T-Mobile.

Reserve ahead to be sure, 18$ plus 10$ internet fee. Or walk up first come first served for $18. And with electric hookups!

      Great campground.

      Trixi’s Antler Saloon (Harvest Host)

Great location for 1 night stay through Harvest Hosts

This was a Harvest Host that we booked for 1 night. It is in the gravel parking lot of the saloon. They have two 50/30 amp electrical boxes and one Tesla charger. With HH it’s free (besides spending money at the saloon) or $25 to use the electric.

It’s a very large lot with plenty of room for our 33 foot fifth wheel. The staff was super pleasant and they served good bar food. There were local beers on tap along with ciders and liquor bar. There is a nice, new patio and great 360 review of the surrounding mountains.

At night the road traffic was alittle loud and there was no cell service, though the saloon has Wi-Fi.

Be sure to fill fresh water tanks before stopping there. Couldn’t find a fresh water hose. No dump available.

Great stopover with no other convenient campsites along this route.

The Inn at Philipsburg RV Park

      In town, as advertised

Had a van battery issue so needed to plug in for the cold night. Is as advertised, not for typical bookdockers. Owner is nice and accommodating. Maybe 12 sites with some long term renters - it appeared. All hook ups available up to 50amp. Not quite close enough to down town to walk (in winter). Philipsburg is an awesome small Montana town that’s worth a stop.

      Whitefish-Kalispell North KOA

      Family friendly, not really “camping”

If you’re looking for family friendly, this is your spot. Lots of kids activities. Free breakfast. Washrooms, showers and laundry facility available. Scenically, it’s not very pretty. Sites are very close together with little privacy. Our spot was so small we couldn’t fit our tent, picnic table and fire pit in it. We had to park somewhere else, and move the picnic table our. If you prefer exploring nature and quiet, this isn’t the park for you.
