A simple fishing access site with basic amenities along a creek near Helena. Visitors appreciated the scenic location but found the $18 non-resident fee steep for the primitive facilities offered.

Nice spot

This has a large pullout from the road. It is along the creek, which is pretty. It has a fire pit and a picnic table. I probably won’t stay here again because Montana charges $18 a night for non-residents. It’s too expensive for essentially a parking spot.

Lichen Cliff

Small camp area at a Montana Fishing Access site. Sites are at a pull off on Recreation Road. Two sites at the fishing access site. Both have a table and fire ring. One outhouse is at the site, no trash bins. Fee for staying, fee based on if you have a fishing license or not. Good location to cool off on a hot day as the creek is shallow. Some noise from the near by I-15. Better as an RV site than a tent.

Small stopover

Lovely little site north of Helena along the highway. Fish & wildlife state siteso simple primitive camp sites. Not too memorable but the nearby area is stunning Montana wilderness with loads of hiking.
