Bureau of Reclamation manages this lakeside campground along Canyon Ferry Lake, accessed via a notably rough gravel road that extends several miles from the highway. The washboard surface proves challenging for RVs and trailers, with dust clouds marking the route during dry conditions. Sites accommodate rigs up to 100 feet with full hookups available, though the terrain consists largely of brown grass fields that could benefit from irrigation.
The facility provides clean restrooms and shower houses, with hot water available for 25 cents per three-minute session. Eric G. notes the bathrooms are "spotless" and praises the helpful office staff and campground hosts. A boat launch and docks serve water enthusiasts, while the adjacent marina offers additional services. Sites spread across open ground with minimal shade, making tent camping less comfortable during peak summer heat.
Electric hookups cost an additional $5 per night above the base rate, with water hookups adding another $5. The dump station charges $10 for non-hookup campers, and two water fill stations provide fresh water, though they lack threaded connections for personal filters. Aquatic invasive species inspections are mandatory before launching watercraft.
Campers seeking different accommodations can explore Goose Bay Primitive Campground, which offers free dispersed camping nearby with vault toilets and fire rings.
Description
Goose Bay is a concessionaire run marina and campground that is owned by the Bureau of Reclamation.
