Lake of the Ozarks State Park Campground

Pretty camping area, lake was filthy and smelly

This was a pretty campsite with lots of trees and simple deer trails throughout. Sites are well spread out. The lake itself was filthy and smelly. Lots of trash and rotting fish on the shorelines. The campground website said they had WiFi throughout the campsite, however it was only available at the front office. No cell service. We had planned to stay for a week to school and work remotely, but had to cut our time here short because of no connectivity. If we hadn’t had the need for WiFi, this would have been a fine campground to stay at, as it is centrally located to many sightseeing locations.

Sties were level, kid and pet friendly, quiet campground, 30/50 amp electricity, no water hookups, firewood avail for fire pits, also had nice picnic tables. Inexpensive.

    Meramec State Park Campground

    Mera-culously huge

Huge park with tons of amenities and options. Although there is year round Camping, the host on site advised water to each individual site will be turned off end of October for winter. Potable water is available near dump stations (hmmm....). Very well kept, and vacant this time of year, affords the opportunity for a more private camping and river experience. Clean well kept shower houses. Lodge & cabin rentals also available. Boat ramp in back of campground. Campsites with blue bands and parking stops are ADA compliant with concrete pads, elevated grills plus fire ring and picnic table.

    Ozark Farms Family Campground

    Great, super clean

Ozark Farms Family Campground was great!!! Easy to get into, flat gravel pad, with picnic table, fire pit and full hookups. We had the larger 50 amp site #3. We did not use the shower house but it looked nice and clean. The bounce house was a huge hit for my 7 year old. I was surprised to learn the owner also has 2 beautiful air BnB's that our friends will use next time we come. Definately one of our favorite trips!!!!

    Onondaga Cave State Park Campground

    Clean and quiet park

We stayed one night on our way through Missouri. It’s only about ten minutes south of I-44. The campground was only about half full, so it was nice and quiet. All sites have a concrete pad for the RV and for the picnic table. Includes water and electric. Playground, laundry room, and dump station. Hiking trails available from the campground and cave tours on weekends. We stayed at site #65 which is close to the entrance/restrooms and has no campsite on either side.

    Osage Campground Retreat

    Full hookups but sketchy

Clean grounds, close to a conservation boat ramp and again full hookups. That’s about where it ends.

Most sites appear to be year-round Occupied. Fifth wheels with buried to sewer lines And people riding their lawn mowers outside their campers.

All things being equal it seems like more of a trailer park with a few camping vacancies.

    Haven Hollow RV Park

    Wonderful place to stay!

This place is much more like private property (with the bonus of full hookups), than an “RV park”. Everything about this place is A+. Roomy, level, and clean lots. Organized & friendly owners. Great lot amenities (fire pits, picnic tables with umbrellas, well maintained hookups). Beautiful views in very direction (open fields, tree lines, greenery, pond, clear views of sky). Very well maintained & marked grass walking trails throughout the property. Easy to find. Not too far interstate. Easy to back in site. This place was perfect for us & our dogs & our large 36’ fifth wheel while we explored and traveled Route 66.

Doolittle Acres RV Park and Campground

    Nice area

Good area only a mile off the highway so it made a great night stopping point. Had great access for our starlink. They have a little dog park, kids park, and it was all clean and well maintained. Easy access and some nice pull through spots. Water, sewer, and electric hook ups. Fire pit and picnic table at site. Since it’s close the highway it was a little loud with traffic. 57$ a night for premium spots, 42$ a night for non premium

    Meramec Caverns Natural Campground

Great Place to camp and enjoy!

This was our first trip in our camper and a first camp at Meramec Caverns.

The staff is friendly and helpful. Security patrols around the clock and doesn't put up with any ridiculousness.

Campsites available on pavement, gravel for campers and RVs and grass for tents. Our site had 30/50 amp service and water on a gravel site facing the Meramec River. It waa a beautiful view!

Shower house and restroom facilities are clean and maintained.

A dump station is located just outsIde the main gate of the campgrounds.

Because of the location, there is no wifi and we had no cell service for the majority of our stay. Once in a while it would get a signal but it was very brief.

Campsites are separated from the Meramec Caverns tourist attractions so there is not constant traffic coming through the campsite.

Most campsites had a stone fire ring, bbq grill, and picnic table.

The cave tour, zipline, boat ride, canoe and float trips and motel are all within short walking distance from the campgrounds.

The campground store has ice, firewood and basics available. The gift shop at the cave has typical tourist items available. The restaurant is more of a snack bar and not a full service restaurant, so don't rely on it for your meals during your stay!

The cave tour is interesting and informative and on a hot day the 60 degree temp of the cave is the perfect place to hang out for a while!

Overall, a very nice place to camp and enjoy the outdoors without being too far from home.

We will definitely be back for another stay!

    Meramec Caverns Natural Campground

    Quiet and Relaxing

We really enjoyed this campground. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Check-in was very easy and we were met at the gate. They drove us over to our spot and brought us over a firepit. The electrical box was setup correctly and everything worked as expected. Water hookup was very close as well and water pressure was strong. As an FYI, we did have to use a regulator to reduce the water pressure.

We were able to stay right along the river. We had arrived a little too early in the camping season and we happened to pick days where Missouri had a cold front (previous weekend was warm). Even with the cold weather, we were able to really enjoy the trip and get our RV ready for the upcoming season.

The camping spots are basically just spots in a big parking lot layout. It is fully paved, but during busy season, you would be very close to other rigs. The park is beautiful and a very short walk over to the cave and ziplines. There is easy access to the river and you are able to easily put in your kayak or small boat. Restroom, showers and trash were a short walk as well.

We will return to this site.
