Okay for an Overnighter

After reading a couple of reviews on this new campground (CG), we called about availability and got someone at Lambert’s Cafe who was not much help. We arrived at this new RV park addition to Lambert’s Cafe from I-57 with no issues. Coming in from I-57, we followed the signs for Lamberts and J.T. RV Park on the left side of the road. The entrance to the RV area is the second entrance into Lambert’s main parking lot. You follow the signage back to the CG which sits off to the right and behind Lambert's. This CG is first-come-first-serve. There’s a sign at the kiosk that states sites 6, 7, 8, 9, 27, 28, 29, 30,& 31 are for stays of one week or longer. We selected and parked in site 25 with FHUs, and then went back to the kiosk and paid our$40. The sites are narrow and very close to each other but this was on a Sunday and the park was fairly empty. There were about five transients overnight along with the four long-termers so having someone next to you was not an issue. There is no fire pit, picnic table, cable, or WiFI. One of the long-termers told me there’s a plan to put in a shower house, restrooms, and other amenities. We do not know if this is factual as we did not see any camp-host type of person during our stay. The CG is in an industrial area and we heard backing beeps at about 2:00 AM for a few minutes but other than that it was not bad for this type of area near a main road. We noticed a long-term resident taking their dog out and not picking up after the pet, which seemed to be common based on the'land mines' we noted while walking our dogs around. There is a dump station here that is a $10 fee if not staying in the CG. Lambert's Cafe is within easy walking distance. We had good water pressure at 50 psi and 4 bars on Verizon. This place is pretty much a parking lot with no trees so no problem with satellite. We got a good variety of OTA stations as well. This CG was a little on the pricey side for what you get unless maybe you are a huge Lambert’s Cafe fan. No surprises at this new RV Park as the sites are pretty much level and the roads easy to navigate. However, this place worked for an overnighter.

Great for a night!

Great spot to stop for a night while traveling. Basically just a parking lot behind Lambert's Cafe, but with full hookups for $30. Self serve station for registering makes it easy. Relatively quiet considering it's location. We were able to refill our water, empty our tanks, have a great meal at Lambert's and get a good night's sleep before heading out again. I wouldn't want to make a vacation location out of it but it's great for a place to rest while traveling.

Frequently Asked Questions

What amenities are available at Lambert's RV Park?

Lambert's RV Park offers full hookups for $30 per night. The park features a self-serve registration station that makes check-in easy and convenient. While the park is essentially a parking lot behind the restaurant, it provides all the necessary basics for overnight stays, including water fill and dump station services. This makes it a practical option for travelers looking for essential RV services without a lot of extra amenities.

How close is Lambert's RV Park to Lambert's Cafe in Springfield, Missouri?

Lambert's RV Park is located directly behind Lambert's Cafe, making it extremely convenient for RVers who want to enjoy a meal at the restaurant. The RV park is essentially part of the same property as the cafe, allowing guests to easily walk from their campsite to the restaurant. Following signs for Lambert's from I-57 will lead you directly to both the cafe and the adjacent RV park.

How does Lambert's RV Park compare to Springfield Route 66 KOA?

Unlike the Springfield Route 66 KOA which likely offers more amenities and recreational facilities typical of KOA campgrounds, Lambert's RV Park is a simpler, no-frills option. Lambert's is essentially a parking lot with hookups behind the restaurant, making it ideal for overnight stays rather than extended camping. It offers a lower price point ($30 for full hookups) compared to typical KOA rates. Lambert's strength is its convenience for travelers and direct access to the restaurant, while the KOA would likely provide more camping amenities and activities but at a higher cost.

What do reviews say about Lambert's RV Park?

Lambert's RV Park is described as a great overnight stop for travelers. The park is relatively quiet despite its location. Visitors appreciate the easy self-serve registration process and the affordable $30 rate for full hookups. While it's primarily a parking lot behind the restaurant rather than a scenic campground, guests feel safe staying there. The park appears popular with travelers, particularly those heading south to Florida during winter months.
