Nice size TV park w cabins

Thanks dyrt for pointing us here. For 30$ a night u get a level gravel drive thru spot electric, sewer, water, and wifi, laundry facilities and bath house very very clean. Very quiet all thru the day and night. Friendly people all round. 5 min to walmart, tractor supply, and many restaurants and gas stations. Spacious lots so you arent right up on each other. Theres rental lots and cabins by the night, week and month. Theres saved spaces for those who just want a pulling over night. Theres big rigs here and small ones. Vintage and brand new. These are friendly people you can sit a chair or 2 outside and not have someone pounding on your door at 7am yelling about a toy or a chair left out all night. This is our face in canton so far. Lovely place with country atmosphere. Pet friendly and spacious. All u need is right here. Thank you ms. Kay and staff.

    Choctaw Lake

Great spots by the water, although quite humid on hotter days, camp neighbors are welcoming and the camp host is a charm

Stayed a night and the next day up until two o’clock, (you’re required to check out &pack up before 2pm on leave day) the stay was great, campsite occupants were nice and even gave me and my lady fire starters when we forgot fluid for our coals when we planned on grilling LOL.. we stayed on site 8, it was a nice spot by the back end lake and its quite nice during the day. Nighttime can be quite humid and bug ridden but if you’re equipped for it i’d say this spot is great for beginners or family trips. Fishing is quite slow/inactive unless you’re on a boat, rather over fished.

    Choctaw Lake

    Not for Tent Camping

Pros: Very nice campground. Clean bath houses with showers, beautiful lake with a small beach. Access to mountain bike trails. Verizon cell reception for those going completely out of touch.

No's: Campsites are on top of each other with very little tree cover. Also, tents cannot be set up on grass; only on their "tent pads." (jagged rocks). I asked the camp host if any sites had actual tent pads instead of rocks and was told no.

    Starkville KOA

    Decent place to stay

This KOA is a decent place. We arrived after the office was closed. We had called ahead and they had a site saved for us. The only issue was, we could not find the site. It was a tent site and we could not find the assigned one. Being the off season and not crowded we just grabbed an empty site. The map they left only had the tent area not individual tent sites marked.

Bathrooms and showers were exceptionally clean. Grounds were clean. Very quiet place. I would stay here again. I looked like all the camper sites were clean and level.

Only reason for the 4 stars and not 5 is due to the site we were assigned to not being marked. Other than that it would be a 5.

Part 2: We had a mechanical issue with one of our motorcycles and the staff at the KOA went out of there way to assist us. They gave us a break on the 2nd night stay due to our situation. Changing this to a 5!!

    Choctaw Lake

    Dump Station!

This is a great place to dump your tanks. Only one problem and we expect it to be resolved soon. The charge is $5.00 but there is no one to pay! The sign claims you can pay in the park, the dump is outside the park, at the entrance or exit. Afterwards we continued to “in the park” to pay with our 53’ rig with car in tow. We looked for a place to pay we gave up and had to try to turn around running over the curb with Motorhome and car we thought we should just mail the fee. A BOX AT THE DUMP STATION SEAM TO BE A SIMPLE FIX.

    Choctaw Lake

    National Forest lakeside camping

Nice cozy campground on the lake. The campsites are almost all right next to the water, but there isn’t too much tree cover despite very large campsites. This may help a little with increasing breeze since we didn’t have as many bugs as we expected. Yay: Nice little beach for swimming, boating and fishing. All quite clean, water and power at each campsite, great showers. Simple but all you could want.

**Nay: Nice hiking trails around the lake, and other great trails nearby.  **

Surprise:  Saw eagles and some cute little red birds we couldn’t identify :) There is a disc golf course nearby (but we don’t play).

    Movietown RV Park

    Movietown Campground

Nice campground. Clean place and friendly staff. This is a good stop to stay a night when needed. Not very private and just a camper lot without any nice views, picnic tables, etc. It worked for us as a quick overnight rest.
