Large pine trees shade most campsites at this Army Corps of Engineers campground on Sardis Lake's shoreline. The facility sits adjacent to John Kyle State Park but operates as a separate entity with different amenities and maintenance standards.
Sites accommodate RVs up to 36 feet with full hookups including electric, water, and sewer connections. Most spots provide reasonable leveling, though length varies between individual sites. The campground offers both drive-in and boat-in access, with a boat launch and dock available for fishing and pontoon boats. Shana D. notes the facility provides "water views and access to the Lower Lake" along with a swim beach nearby.
Recent reviews indicate mixed maintenance conditions, with some facilities affected by storm damage from several years ago. Half the campground remains operational, though some bathhouses stay closed. The spillway offers additional fishing opportunities beyond lake access. Campers consistently mention the site's popularity during summer months and its appeal to anglers. For broader regional options, consider places to camp near Sardis.
Reservations are now accepted at the $30 nightly rate, addressing earlier first-come availability concerns that made site selection unpredictable.

Sardis Lakes total area covers 98,000 acres of land and water in the rolling hills of North Mississippi. The dam was finished in 1940 as part of a comprehensive flood control plan and controls the waters of the Little Tallahatchie River. The lower lake was created by excavating soil for the creation of the nearly 3-mile long Sardis Dam.
