US Army Corps of Engineers manages Sleepy Bend along the western shore of Sardis Lake, where campers can access waterfront sites with RV accommodations up to 40 feet. The campground features gravel roads and maintains basic amenities including restrooms, drinking water, and picnic tables, though recent visitors report occasional maintenance issues with garbage around fire pits.

Campers often find themselves with plenty of space, as occupancy tends to be light, particularly during weekdays. Cell reception works well for AT&T and Verizon users. The area can experience flooding during heavy rain events, making dry weather visits more reliable for camping near Sardis.

It’s “Alright” but watch for water

It’s a pleasant spot not many people, but we were there on a day. It was rainy, and the whole place flooded. Been there. A few times its a decent place when it’s dry but I would not want to be there when it rains.

Nice But Filthy

Nice wooded area along the western tip of Sardis lake. We pulled in and the pay station was covered so unable to pay the $10 fee, but the gate was open, bathrooms were open and dumpster unlocked. Got a spot right near the water...well actually we could have grabbed any spot because we were the only ones in the park.

The park could have been really nice but there was a lot of garbage around the fire pits and in the water, however the bathrooms were clean.

Stayed one night only. Good cell reception with AT&T and Verizon.
